We are seeking a skilled Java Developer to join our project on a 12-month contract basis, with the possibility of extension and potential conversion to a permanent role based on performance.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in Java 8, Ansible, and proficiency in Kafka and Cassandra. Experience with shell scripting and Linux commands for log analysis, along with building and deploying applications using Jenkins, is essential. Knowledge of setting up new environments is also required. Experience in the banking domain and familiarity with Fix messages for Equities is preferred.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Java Development: Develop and maintain Java applications using Java 8, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and quality.
- Ansible Automation: Implement and manage automation tasks using Ansible for efficient deployment and configuration management.
- Data Streaming with Kafka: Contribute to data streaming projects using Kafka for real-time data processing and integration.
- Database Management with Cassandra: Assist in Cassandra database operations and optimization for data storage and retrieval.
- Shell Scripting and Linux Commands: Utilize shell scripting and Linux commands for log analysis, troubleshooting, and automation tasks.
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Build, test, and deploy applications using Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools, ensuring seamless integration and delivery pipelines.
- Environment Setup and Configuration: Collaborate with teams to set up and configure new development, testing, and production environments as required.
- Documentation and Collaboration: Document technical designs, processes, and procedures. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including developers, testers, and system engineers.
- Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve technical issues related to applications, infrastructure, and deployments in a timely manner.
- Adherence to Best Practices: Follow coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines to ensure robust and scalable applications.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in Java development with strong proficiency in Java 8.
- Practical experience of Ansible for automation tasks.
- Familiarity with Kafka for data streaming and Cassandra for database operations.
- Proficiency in shell scripting and Linux commands for log analysis and automation.
- Experience in building and deploying applications using Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools.
- Ability to set up and configure new environments.
- Preferred experience in the banking domain and understanding of Fix messages for Equities.
