We are seeking an accomplished Engineering Director to lead our trading systems team. The role involves overseeing the development, optimization, and maintenance of our core exchange architecture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in trading systems, architecture design, and a proven track record in leading technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Lead the design, architecture decisions, coding, code reviews, and implementation of our core trading architecture systems. Ensure adherence to best practices in software development, scalability, and system architecture.
- Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of engineers. Provide technical guidance, set clear objectives, and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation. Conduct regular performance evaluations, promote professional development, and address team members' career growth.
- System Optimization: Continuously improve the effectiveness, performance, and stability of our core exchange system. Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to enhance system scalability and efficiency.
- Quality Assurance: Review, test, and verify code to maintain high standards of quality, reliability, and security. Implement processes and tools for code quality improvements and adherence to security standards.
- Problem Solving: Identify and troubleshoot complex technical issues related to trading systems. Propose and implement solutions to address system bugs, performance bottlenecks, and other challenges.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including product management, operations, and compliance to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize features and enhancements.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensure thorough documentation of system architecture, processes, and procedures. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in software development with a focus on trading systems or financial technology.
- Proven experience in architecture design, performance optimization, and scalability of large-scale systems.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and mentoring technical teams.
- Deep understanding of trading systems, exchange technologies, and financial markets.
- Experience with coding language Java.
- Familiarity with security standards, code quality tools, and best practices in software development.
