To support the Technical Department in:-
- Procurement, sourcing and purchase of vessels’ spare parts, supplies and services including preparation of relevant purchase orders and job orders to ensure proper supply for vessels.
- Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates in order for Superintendents to review and determine the best offer among potential suppliers.
- Verify suppliers’ invoices against quotations and keeping track of vessels’ total expenditure against approved budgets. Verifies item received with items ordered; liaise and resolve with suppliers for mismatch items.
- Monitor vessels’ movements, liaising with suppliers, masters and agents to ensure that supplies are delivered on board timely.
- Responsible for accurate record keeping, follow-up and filing of all stores and spares purchased for vessels.
- Actively follow up on vessels’ defect reports, arrangement of third party service vendors and docking issues etc.
- Coordinate closely with Technical Superintendent and shipboard officers.
- Co-ordinate with vessels on various technical matters as instructed by the Superintendents.
- Maintain and update vessels’ technical certificates and arrangement of renewals whenever required.
- Any ad-hoc duties as assigned by Technical Superintendents and or Technical Manager.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma holders with 2-3 years of purchasing experience preferably in Shipping industry
- Familiar with vessel records and certificates
- Meticulous, IT savvy, good team player and able to communicate effectively
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimum supervision
