- Lead and manage a team responsible for establishing supplier agreements, considering sales and operational requirements.
- Provide the Asia Pacific regional organization with a comprehensive portfolio of service providers for sea freight and intermodal services.
- Conduct market research on suppliers used by competitors and market rates, and act on findings.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers at various levels.
- Collaborate closely with suppliers, other offices, forwarders, and agents for rate offers and negotiations.
- Maintain and update supplier information, rates, and surcharges within the Internal Vendor System.
- Monitor and manage the expiration of various rates in the Vendor System.
- Execute and oversee all rate negotiations with suppliers in the designated area.
- Identify opportunities to optimize the supplier portfolio.
- Manage, support, and facilitate the regional procurement team in their daily activities.
- Assist the superior in other procurement duties as needed.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
- Proven track record in procurement within the logistics industry, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Excellent market knowledge of sea freight and transportation.
- Proficient in using computing software (e.g., in-house programs).
- Results-oriented with strong negotiation and analytical skills for supplier selection and evaluation.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage processes and build relationships.
- Experience in Continuous Improvement or Process Development is advantageous.
