Job Purpose
- The Assistant Director / Director, Logistics and Distribution directly manages the operational resources that are part of the Contracts Solutions, Warehouse, Business Solutions and Business Development Teams.
- You will directly supervise the operational excellence and develop the capabilities of the logistics department, particularly in storage and distribution.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the logistics and distribution functions of the company to drive growth.
- Collaborate with CEO and management team to set objectives, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop long-term development strategies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of logistics and distribution professionals, setting clear objectives and providing guidance and support.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation and professional growth.
- Perform job-appraisal of team.
2. Operations
- Oversee daily operations of warehouse and contract logistics teams to ensure efficient and effective management of inventory, transportation, and distribution processes.
- Manage P&L responsibilities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis
- Supervise the timely, secure, and cost-effective delivery of products to both internal and external customers.
- Supervise the development of internal costing and analytics tools.
- Supervise the Business Development team in creating up-to-date commercial packages showcasing company’s expertise.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
- Implement best practices in logistics and distribution, including advancements in technology and automation.
3. Contract Management and Compliance
- Negotiate, manage and ensure compliance of contracts with third-party logistics providers, suppliers, and other partners to ensure favorable terms and performance standards.
- Monitor and evaluate contract performance, making adjustments as necessary to meet service level agreements.
- Ensure all logistics and distribution activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Work with in-house Safety Inspectorate to develop and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Possess a Diploma / Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or related fields.
- Minimum 10 years of working experience in the logistics industry, with at least 8 years in a management role.
- Experience in dealing with Contract Logistics, Healthcare or Biomedical Logistics is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Visio, and MS Project.
- Strong communication skills and ability to form good relationships with varying levels of stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker, with hands-on attitude and ability to drive change.
- Team player with positive working attitude.
- Candidates with more experience may be considered for the post of Director.
Working Conditions
5 Working days per week.
