Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Sales Director to lead our sales team. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies for our awards, events, media, and sponsorship opportunities, driving revenue growth, and ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the financial services sector, and a proven track record in sales management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team to achieve revenue targets and foster professional growth.
- Strategic Planning: Design and implement effective sales strategies that align with business objectives and market trends.
- Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with key clients, acting as a point of contact for escalations and strategic discussions.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze sales performance metrics, adjusting strategies as needed to optimize results and meet objectives.
- Lead Generation: Oversee lead generation activities, ensuring that the team effectively identifies and reaches out to potential clients and markets.
- Proposal Development: Guide the team in creating compelling proposals and presentations that effectively address client needs and objectives.
- Collaboration: Work closely with marketing and event teams to align sales initiatives with marketing campaigns and event strategies.
- Market Insights: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to position the organization competitively.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management on sales performance, market conditions, and team progress against targets.
- Experience: 5+ years of sales experience in the financial services, events, or media sectors, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire a sales team; strong coaching and mentoring abilities.
- Skills: Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills with a capacity to build and sustain client relationships.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills to evaluate sales performance and market trends effectively.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient in CRM software, sales analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proactive Approach: Self-motivated and results-oriented, able to work both independently and collaboratively.
