Piping Engineer
[EPC | Jurong Island, West Region]
Responsibilities:
· Possess Plant3D experience and be able to create a pipe specification.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop piping design specifications for the project.
· Design and layout the piping systems, including process piping, utility piping, ensuring compliance with industry codes, standards, and local regulations.
· Prepare detailed piping drawings, isometric drawings, and piping material specifications using AutoCAD or other relevant software.
· Select and specify appropriate piping materials, valves, fittings, and other components based on project requirements.
· Calculate and determine pipe sizing, pressure drops, flow rates, and hydraulic characteristics to ensure optimal performance of the piping systems.
· Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and vendors to procure piping materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with project specifications.
· Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of piping systems, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
· Conduct field inspections and surveys to verify piping installations, identify any deviations or deficiencies, and propose corrective actions.
· Maintain accurate documentation of piping design activities, including drawings, specifications, calculations, and correspondence.
Job requirements:
· Diploma/ Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
· Proven experience as a Design Engineer in the Plant construction industry.
· Minimum 10 year’s relevant experience
· Strong knowledge of piping design principles, codes, and standards
· Proficiency in MS office & AutoCAD or similar software for piping design and documentation.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to address design challenges creatively.
· Excellent technical communication (oral and written) skills with proven ability to present technical issues to design teams and project engineering teams
· Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize activities, and meet project deadlines.
