Basic Function
Assist the Assistant Chief Engineer/Chief Engineer in supervising, co-ordination and directing the activities of the Engineering staff and in administration of the Engineering Department.
Responsibility and Authority
1 Assist the Assistant Chief Engineer/Chief Engineer in implementing maintenance and repair of all machinery, equipment, apparatus and fixtures and preventive maintenance programs in the Hotel.
2 Assist Assistant Chief Engineer/Chief Engineer in preparing the work schedules of all Engineering staff including their shifts, days off and annual leave.
3 Assist the Assistant Chief Engineer/Chief Engineer in the training of staff according to establish procedures and standards.
4 Submit daily activities report on operations, repair, maintenance and special projects. Keep accurate records of machine breakdowns, repairs and operating costs.
5 Log down all activities including service breakdowns that occur during his shift and submit report to the Chief Engineer.
6 Ensure that all Engineering areas are kept clean & tidy.
7 Conduct daily briefings to all staff on the staff.
8 Check and follow up on out-of-order rooms to be released soonest possible.
9 Check on assigned preventive maintenance rooms to ensure job is carried out accordingly.
10 Supervise and train staff in their work.
11 Organise special and irregular engineering repairs or projects.
12 To assist the Assistant Chief Engineer/Chief Engineer on the preparation & execution of adhoc Maintenance & Capex projects.
13 To prepare the list of replacement parts to be ordered for the Assistant Chief Engineer.
14 Work in close co-ordination with all other departments.
15 Ensure that all staff comply with the rules, regulations and policies established by the department and the Hotel.
16 Ensure that fire and safety procedures are carried out at all times.
17 Be fully familiar with the emergency Procedures as established by the Hotel.
18 Perform other duties as directed.
