Key Responsibilities:
- Proven work experience as a marine mechanic and or technician.
- Travel to the shipyards, docking sites and maintenance areas to perform repair and maintenance tasks.
- Testing the performance of marine engines equipment and electrical systems.
- Overhaul and troubleshoot engines and generators.
- Ensure all repairs, maintenance and overhaul jobs are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Follow service manual instructions for all repair standard operating procedures.
- Follow all work safety standards and practices while working in the workshops and on-sites.
- To work independently for general engine repair tasks and overhaul jobs on board/at sites.
- Possess knowledge to perform dismantling, repair, replacement and reassembling of mechanical parts cum servicing.
- Conduct daily tool box meetings with teams prior to job commencement and ensuring safe work and health practices at all times.
- Planning of job methodology and work schedule.
- Keep work areas clean and tidy at all times.
- Other ad hoc duties as and when assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Possess minimum Nitec/Diploma in Marine/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with minimum 2 year working experiences.
- Must possess the necessary skillsets and willing to perform HANDS-ON works in mechanical repairs, installations and removal of parts.
- Independently perform engine maintenance, repairs and overhauls on board or at the sites, including dismantling, repairing, replacing, and reassembling of mechanical parts.
- Troubleshoot machinery issues and propose repair solutions.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Well organized in project management, able to work with tight schedules to accommodate ship arrivals and or departure schedules.
- Independent, resourceful, proactive, and an excellent team player.
