Engineer (Operational Technology, Factory improvements, renewable Contract)
As a Manufacturing Innovation Center team member, you will be responsible for analyzing factory operations and identifying gaps in their processes. Your role will involve:
- Enhancement of production operation (Industrial engineering, site survey, factory diagnosis & implementation activities including digitalization of factory/processes)
- Drive digital transformation roadmap with digitalization use cases, IT Infrastructure, Data connectivity, leveraging technologies like smart/flexible automation, paperless manufacturing, BI tools, AR / VR, Big data analytics
- Support product cost working group, assure parts quality, through enhancement of production cost structure, product planning & development process. (Cost ITAKONA WG collaboration)
- Organize & conduct training/seminars as part of our team effort towards digital transformation and enhancement of factory activity.
- Some level of administrative work is required as part of MIC operation.
Job requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field will be appropriate. Diploma with extensive experience may be considered
- 3-5 years’ experience in factory enhancement activities and digital transformation
- Able to understand the product development process, manufacturing process, and digital transformation (including understanding Big Data Analytics, AI, etc.)
- Good IT knowledge and experience in an Operational technology environment (manufacturing). Individuals with experience in programming languages like Python, Java, C++, or SQL will be an added advantage
- A team player, self-motivated, innovative & agile. Possesses critical thinking abilities in order to improve application performance and resolve technical issues.
- An individual, with an honest work ethic and excellent communication skills to provide a superior users engagement.
- Able to travel overseas frequently within APAC and occasionally outside APAC; e.g. India, China, Europe, etc. (a few days to a month after COVID eases)
- The ability to understand Japanese (Written and oral) will be an added advantage as the job may require liaising with the Japan head office.
