Assistant Vice President, IT Engineer
Position Summary:
The IT Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure and assets of the Singapore RHQ office, ensuring they remain secure and fully operational. Additionally, this role involves providing IT helpdesk support to end-users and collaborating with IT teams across various APAC group companies to support regional IT initiatives. Occasional travel to other Sompo office locations may be required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities include:
IT Support and Helpdesk:
- Provide timely and effective IT support to end-users, resolving technical issues as the IT helpdesk.
- Create and delete user accounts on various applications and systems.
- Deploy and manage end-user computers and related equipment.
Infrastructure and Network Management:
- Monitor and manage IT infrastructure and network, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Manage the Microsoft 365 environment, including Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, Azure AD, and etc.
- Review vulnerabilities on IT assets, plan, and execute patch deployments.
Regional IT Initiatives and Technical Support:
- Provide technical support for various regional IT initiatives, collaborating with IT teams across multiple APAC group companies and Headquarters in Japan.
- Conduct research and development for new IT and digital technologies to enhance organizational capabilities.
- Negotiate and procure IT solutions and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with organizational needs.
- Communicate with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in managing IT network devices and Microsoft 365 services.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to write clear and concise user manuals and documentation.
- Ability to maintain strong relationships with IT teams across global group companies.
- Well-developed decision-making and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain decisions and negotiate appropriate solutions.
- Critical thinking skills to identify and analyze stakeholder requirements, recognize areas of concern, and develop appropriate solutions.
- Effective organizational and workload management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- ITIL or similar professional qualification is highly desirable; additional qualifications in security, cloud, network, and infrastructure domains are a plus.
- Strong work ethic, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Japanese is required as the job scope require to communicate and liaise with Headquarters in Japan.
