Senior Process Engineer

Responsibilities:

New Equipment Installation and Process Setup:

  • Project Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to develop and execute project plans for installing and setting up new equipment. Follow up on machine qualifications.
  • Integration: Oversee the integration of new equipment into existing manufacturing processes, ensuring compatibility. Ensure all machine manuals and documentation are organized and up-to-date.
  • Process Improvement: Assess the robustness of existing processes, introduce best practices, and implement process changes based on expertise.
  • PFMEA: Execute, maintain, and champion Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) on all critical processes.

Process Transfer and Stabilization:

  • Documentation and Evaluation: Ensure that processes transferred from other sites are well-documented, evaluated, and matched with the existing environment.
  • Technical Support: Provide support for process quality and standardization during product/process industrialization.
  • Continuous Improvement: Liaise with headquarters for ongoing process improvements and ensure process stabilization with further optimization.

Process Control:

  • Real-Time Monitoring: Monitor and analyze Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts, troubleshoot non-conformance issues, and work with production and maintenance teams to analyze and optimize process cycle times.
  • Data Monitoring: Track data trends for in-process specifications using SAP, PDA, and other tools.

Real-Time Manufacturing Support:

  • Problem Analysis: Analyze real-time issues, implement corrective actions, and improve tools to support production processes and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Problem Solving: Investigate production problems, liaise with relevant parties, and study past cases to determine solutions.
  • Customer Claims: Investigate customer claims, support root cause analysis, and develop new solutions for products.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Equipment Engineering Team to address machine issues.

People Management:

  • Training and Guidance: Guide and train technicians on machine operations, including new process engineers. Drive and support engineering teams to achieve high efficiency.

Promote Lean Culture:

  • LEAN Projects: Facilitate and participate in LEAN projects to promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Training & Development:

  • Technical Training: Provide technical training to technicians on current and new processes, and train new engineering assistants, imparting technical knowledge.

Ad-hoc Assignments:

  • Support: Assist with any ad-hoc assignments from the Head of Department and participate in special assignments related to machine setup at other plants based on technical expertise.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Material Science Engineering preferred.
  • Experience: Over 5 years of experience as a Process Engineer with machine commissioning experience.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication skills, capable of interacting with people at all levels.
    • Effective team player with strong organizational and facilitation skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and self-motivation to learn about metal processing technology and precision engineering.
    • Commitment to working long or irregular hours.
    • Knowledge of non-ferrous metal processing, including stamping, rolling, annealing, and slitting. Cold rolling experience is advantageous.
    • Sound decision-making, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
    • Technical expertise on the shop floor to make timely decisions, minimize risks, and resolve engineering problems.
    • Familiarity with problem-solving methodologies such as SPC tools, DOE, FMEA, and LEAN techniques.
    • Strong data analytical skills.
    • Basic skills in SAP (Material Management).
