Purpose of Job / Job Summary:
Coordinate daily site activities with Tunnel Engineers and the crew, while assisting the Deputy and Tunnel Manager in planning and executing tunneling operations.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- Construction Oversight: Oversee construction activities and progress, plan and implement work schedules in line with the master and detailed work programme.
- Coordination: Liaise with consultants (QPS) on technical issues and coordinate site activities with subcontractors.
- Guidance and Supervision: Provide direction to Tunnel Engineers and supervisors regarding construction work, ensure adherence to the schedule, maintain quality standards, conduct site inspections, and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Documentation: Prepare reports and method statements as needed.
- Workforce Management: Manage and supervise workers to ensure a safe and orderly site environment.
- Shift Work: Be prepared to work night shifts during tunneling activities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
- Professional Experience: At least 8 years of engineering experience in relevant fields, with a minimum of 5 years in managing tunneling works of similar scale, complexity, and nature.
Specific Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CAD.
- Strong team player with experience in compressed air operations.
