Responsibilities
- Carry out / Review complete basic engineering activities of power projects including but not limited to the following:
- Line sizing calculations
- Pressure drop and temperature drop calculations
- Insulation loss calculations
- Air receiver / gas receiver sizing calculations
- Carry out / Review various balance of plant equipment sizing calculations
- Prepare Heat Balance Diagrams for various operating scenarios
- Prepare Water Balance Diagrams for various operating scenarios
- Prepare Process and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) and Process Descriptions
- Prepare overall plant start up curves
- Prepare performance test procedure and plant correction curves
- Support construction team to solve technical problems and propose practical solutions to achieve required outcome under constraint
- Liaise with parent company on project requirements
- Participate in meetings with Owner and Owner’s Engineer as may be requested by the tendering/project team
- Any other duties to be assigned from time to time
Pre-requisites:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience in EPC power plant projects
- Conversant with overall combined cycle analysis and heat balance drawings
- Familiar with International Codes and practices and Performance Test Codes
- Familiar with Thermodynamic cycle analysis programs like GT Pro / GT Master will be an added advantage
- Familiar with process control philosophy
- Candidates are required to have business proficiency in Japanese language to liaise with counterparts from parent company
- Able to interact effectively with Owner and Owner’s Engineers on technical issues Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle stress and be sensitive to deadlines
