Job Summary
The Middleware Engineer is responsible for planning, building, and maintaining seamless Kafka and MQ as a Service solutions. This role involves automating middleware deployment on virtual machines (VMs) or container platforms, participating in projects, and supporting middleware for application teams. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME) for middleware technologies such as Kafka and IBM MQ, providing expertise in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Job Objectives
- Plan and build seamless Kafka and MQ as a Service solutions.
- Automate middleware deployment on VMs or container platforms.
- Participate in projects and provide middleware support for application teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical SME for middleware technologies like Kafka and IBM MQ, offering expertise in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Implement and deploy middleware on VMs or container platforms.
- Ensure service continuity through the implementation of high availability (HA) procedures and disaster recovery plans.
Key Requirements
- Expertise in Confluent Kafka.
- At least 5 years of experience with virtual machines, Linux, containerized platforms, and programming skills related to MQ and Kafka.
- Experience with IBM Connect Direct.
- Knowledge of Windows, CI/CD pipelines, Bitbucket, and Jenkins.
- Strong technical skills in middleware technologies.
- Proven track record in implementing and managing middleware solutions.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
