Key Roles and Responsibilities
The Assistant Engineer will support the Metering Lead Engineer and Performance Engineers in various tasks to ensure efficient operation, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of metering and data acquisition systems. Key responsibilities include:
Performance Engineering Support:
- Maintenance and upkeep of data acquisition system (both on-site and through vendor management)
- Configure of SCADA devices.
- Maintain and organize site documentation.
- Perform onboarding of new sites and conduct User Acceptance Tests (UAT) for in-house dashboards.
- Support monthly energy guarantee assessments.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Metering/Billing Support:
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of metering devices.
- Aid in the maintenance and hardware/firmware upgrades of energy meters.
- Follow up on energy metering issues, including vendor management.
- Consolidate energy meter readings for billing and month-end closing reports.
- Support new meter testing and qualification.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI).
- Provide remote support during on-site troubleshooting by contractors.
- Address ad-hoc customer queries related to dashboards and billing.
- Train and assist interns.
- This role requires technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to ensure the effective management of metering and data acquisition systems. Please note that this role is site-work focused.
Qualifications & Experience
- Electrical background and ability to perform basic electrical testing & measurement
- Good to have driving license to meet site work requirement
- Good to have basic understanding of solar industry and device communication (modbus-RTU)
- Good to have experience handling energy meters
- Willing to perform site-work, working outdoors, on rooftop and water environment
- Proactive, positive and self-motivated with ability to work independently
- Able to troubleshoot unusual issues
