As part of the mechanical team in Engineering, successful candidate will conduct the following engineering activities:
- design of plastic and metal parts for electronic boxes using 3D CAD
- conduct rapid prototyping and rapid testing to validate design requirements
- perform design trouble shootings and design solution implementations
- support parts fabrication, product assembly and production processes
- generate technical drawings, design reports, test plans and technical documentation
Successful candidate is expected to have the following essential knowledge:
- ability to evaluate stress and strain for plastic and metal designs
- understanding of various 3D printing technologies
- ability to design mechanical tests for design verifications
- understanding of plastic molding and metal fabrication processes
- ability to design parts that facilitate product assembly and production processes
- understanding the design of and ability to troubleshoot electromechanical connectors
Candidate with the following skills and knowledge will be preferred:
- ability to conduct computer modeling and simulation during product design
- ability to instrument product and conduct shock and vibration tests on a shaker table
- ability to analyze shock and vibration data for troubleshooting and solutioning
Successful candidate will be part of NPI team working closely with cross-functional members to execute project tasks and to meet project timelines.
Education Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering
Experience in mechanical design of plastic and metal parts for electronic boxes preferably in electronic industry
