Key Responsibilities:
1. Treasury Management: Oversee daily treasury operations, ensuring efficient management of the bank’s liquidity and financial assets. Develop strategies to optimize financial resources and manage risks associated with currency transactions and interest rates.
2. Trade Finance Oversight: Manage and provide expertise in trade finance operations, including the issuance, negotiation, and management of Letters of Credit (LCs). Ensure compliance with international trade laws and financial regulations.
3. Financial Strategy and Analysis: Develop financial strategies that align with the bank’s objectives. Conduct risk assessments and scenario analysis to forecast potential impacts on the bank’s financial health.
4. Capital Management: Monitor and manage the bank’s capital requirements to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Develop strategies for capital raising and capital efficiency.
5. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including financial institutions, auditors, and regulatory bodies. Represent the bank in negotiations and discussions related to treasury and trade finance matters.
6. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all treasury and trade finance activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Stay updated with changes in financial regulations and implement necessary changes in bank operations.
7. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals. Provide training and support to enhance team capabilities in treasury and trade finance.
8. Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial reports for senior management. Present findings and make strategic recommendations based on financial analysis.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management with a strong focus on treasury operations and trade finance.
• Extensive experience with Letters of Credit and other trade finance instruments.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, liquidity management, and risk management.
• Proficient in using financial software and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership qualities and ability to manage teams.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex financial concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
