RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Oversee the Operations and Management of FSC Service

  • Having a clear understanding of the requirements and scope of services as determined by MSF, described in the respective service and funding models
  • To work with team in ensuring operations of the agency, to develop and implement FSC’s operational protocols, processes and policies
  • To work with the team of seniors and supervisors, to manage the performance of all staff in the team in ensuring basic operations and functions of FSC
  • To ensure supervisors and social workers’ compliance to professional processes (such as the use of tools and templates, adherence to practice policies) and Service Standards Requirements (SSRs)
  • To ensure the finance and admin teams’ compliance to financial controls and SOPs (facility, financial and adhoc programmes management)
  • To review and oversee the emergency response and crisis management tools, critical incident protocols and the feedback/grievance protocol
  • Seeing to the recruitment and hiring of all staff members required to support the operations of the service, supported by MWS HR team
  • To ensure the staff retention, staff development, staff satisfaction rate, and adhering to all of MWS’s corporate service protocols and processes
  • Liaising with MSF on matters relating to funding, compliance, and other such operational issues
  • To ensure audit compliance for all annual audits by MSF and MWS
  • Manage and regularly review operational and clinical processes to ensure that they meet the desired service standards of the programme

2. Assess and execute FSC Service with a macro-level perspective, aligned with MSF and MWS directions

  • To work in tantum with MSF and MWS in understanding the position and stance of FSC’s function, for the development of quality FSC work within the social service sector
  • To be able to represent MWS at public and national platforms to build and leverage on networks with other professionals
  • To work closely with MSF, assess and work with relevant stakeholders to influence and drive directions for FSC landscape
  • Together with stakeholders such as MSF or MWS RITA teams, to study the changing trends in the community we serve through the collection and analysis of national data.
  • Provide platforms for sharing and training of internal staff and/or external stakeholders, through conferences, publications and various sharing
  • Represent in media queries, where required, and/or other public relations platform, in consultation with MWS Communications & Engagement team
  • Create synergies and opportunities for exchange and education cross services within MWS, or externally with other stakeholders relevant to the social service sector
  • To be able to assess the importance and significance of the FSC within social service landscape, and the value of FSC within MWS services to take necessary actions in integrating and bettering the work to be delivered to the clients

3. Represent MWS management as a thought leader in driving FSC’s function within the Family Services Group

  • To be involved in evaluation, research, data collection and analysis of trends when needed
  • To support the development of new programmes and services when required
  • To synergize and work on ensuring alignment across FSCs in MWS, and within the Family Services Group context
  • To be able to work with other management staff, including directors, heads and managers across MWS to deliver good quality work for MWS
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Associate Director and Group Director of Family Services

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work from an accredited institution / Degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work from an accredited institution
  • A Bachelor or graduate diploma in management is an added advantage
  • At least 8 years relevant experience in social work practice.
  • At least3 years of experience in supervision and management.
  • Demonstrate sound and updated professional knowledge and skills in social work and case management
  • Strong clinical and supervision skills
  • Able to handle risk cases and critical incidents required in casework and counseling
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities
  • Good analytical skills with a critical mind
  • A team player
  • Able to multi-task and work independently
  • Proficient in written and oral communication

COMPETENCIES

  • Good grasp of professional areas of the relevant field to be able to help inform operational, managerial and human resource areas of responsibility.
  • Leadership skills– to influence, guide and mobilize cluster heads/heads of service to achieve high standards of service delivery
  • Possess relational skills to effectively network with government agencies, churches and community partners to place the agencies and the organization in good standing for the benefit of clients.
  • A good understanding of the quality standards required of each service under his/her purview
  • Knowledge and ability to engage, assess, provide intervention and evaluate practice protocols
  • Ability to understand client groups and manage risk and protective factors
  • Ability to demonstrate reflective practice
  • Ability to engage stakeholders and partners
  • Knowledge and application of SASW code of professional ethics and Code of Social Work Practice
  • Knowledge of systems and availability of resources with a view to represent clients’ needs
  • Knowledge and ability to empower clients to access needed resources
  • Ability to identify available resources, social gaps and conduct relevant analyses
  • Possess cultural understanding and social sensitivity
  • Understand self, personal values, beliefs and the way these impact the working relationship with clients
  • Engage in self care and active learning
  • Possess positive attitude with good interpersonal and written communication skills.
