We are seeking a skilled System Engineer to work on a project basis, with a strong focus on Windows Server, VMware, backup solutions (e.g. Veeam, Acronis), and NAS storage systems. The ideal candidate will also have experience in Microsoft technologies including Active Directory (AD), Office 365 (O365), SCCM, SCOM, DHCP, DNS/WINS, Group Policy and OS hardening. An additional advantage is having experience with SAN storage. Microsoft Active Directory deployments, and configure failover clustering as part of various projects
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Implementation & Deployment:Deployment and configuration of Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS/WINS, DHCP, and Group Policy for customer projects.
Deployment and configuration VMware and HyperV infrastructure.
Implement and configure backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Acronis, Veritas) for data protection in project environment.
Configure and manage NAS storage systems as part of customer project implementations
Deploy and integrate Microsoft technologies including O365, SCCM, and SCOM.
- OS Hardening & Security:Perform OS hardening and apply security best practices as part of project setups, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Integrate security measures into project deliverables to protect against vulnerabilities.
Perform remediation based on a security assessment.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance Support:Assist internal maintenance team to provide technical support for system related incident across multiple customer environments
- Technical Documentation & Handover:Create comprehensive documentation for project deployments, including system configurations, operation guide, and user acceptance test (UAT) document.
Provide a thorough handover, knowledge transfer, and training to clients, ensuring smooth ongoing operations post-project.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a System/Desktop Engineer, focusing on Windows Server, VMware, and Microsoft technologies, preferably in customer-facing roles.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/WINS, DHCP.
- Strong expertise in VMware and HyperV virtualization technologies implementations.
- Experience with backup solutions such as Veeam, Acronis, or Veritas
- Experience in NAS storage systems; knowledge of SAN storage is an added advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft technologies including O365, SCCM, and SCOM.
- Familiarity with OS hardening techniques and security best practices.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Basic proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) is an added advantage.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: VMWare and Microsoft server-related certification.
- Experience in a project role serving multiple external customers.
