Responsibilities
- Support operations of production networks in a hyper-scale and heterogeneous environment.
- Perform deep dives on complex technical issues across networks, ranging from automated tooling to hardware failures and network issues.
- Follow through escalations till closure, analyzing and leading investigation across domains and functional teams.
- Anticipate potential operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate/minimize.
- Participate and improve escalation and emergency response with detailed postmortem while addressing issues systematically to prevent future occurrences.
- Align with cross-functional relationships with Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Traffic, Logistics, Program Management, and OEM partners to deliver superb operational results and manage the performance of external vendors.
- Participate in the oncall rotation with the global operations team.
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years solid internetworking experience in large ISP internet network, CDN/Edge network, handling at least Tier 2 escalations
- Expert knowledge of TCP/IP and IPv6, L3 Switching, BGP, packet capture and analysis, (TCP/UDP/HTTP) Protocol session communication.
- Intermediate knowledge on Linux system, DNS, HTTP, server hardware.
- Knowledge on power and cooling in a large data center
- Knowledge of data driven analysis on large scale data to find problems and root cause
- Experience in implementing/maintaining the monitoring, alerting and repairing systems for production network in a DevOps environment.
- Has done scripting and/or coding in languages such as Python or GO for monitoring and alerting or provisioning.
*Minimum qualifications*
- Network operations experience on supporting large-scale network infrastructure or internet infrastructure (CDN or IAAS or large IXSP internet network
- Engineering degree, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in at more than one of the domains: IP network, caching appliance infrastructure, CDN/Edge network, DNS, HTTP/S including topology, protocol, hardware and architectures, linux system, network wide alerting and automation (with real hands-on), scripting and/or coding for automation. Preferred candidate to be multi skilled in multi domains.
- Experience working within a global team and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with limited supervision.
