Director of Commodity Trading

As the Director of Commodity Trading, you will be responsible for the overall strategy, execution, and management of our commodity trading business. Your duties include but are not limited to:

  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop the company's commodity trading strategy in Singapore and Southeast Asia, organize and implement the business development plan, and ensure the achievement of annual business goals.
  • Trade Operations Management: Manage the full process of procurement, sales, logistics, and supply chain finance for commodities like chemical products, non-ferrous metals, and coal, ensuring smooth business operations.
  • Financing and Capital Market Expansion: Independently complete commodity trade financing, including developing trade financing customer resources, organizing, and coordinating cooperation with financial institutions to meet the company’s capital market business needs.
  • Market and Customer Management: Track market trends in the commodity industry, actively explore innovative business models, and expand customer resources, especially with domestic and overseas state-owned enterprises, large private enterprises, and listed companies.
  • Contract and Negotiation: Organize and participate in the negotiation and signing of important trade projects, supervise the execution of related business contracts, and ensure compliance and risk management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Finance, Economics, or International Trade;
  • At least 8 years of experience in the commodity or finance industry, familiar with the Southeast Asian market, and with rich industry resources;
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills, with a strong sense of compliance and risk management;
  • Familiar with various financing models and product structure design, with extensive experience in supply chain finance and cross-border transactions;
  • Excellent negotiation skills and contract management ability, able to achieve goals under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in cross-border trade services, especially in Forfaiting, Pre-Acceptance Financing, Back-to-Back L/C Procurement, and Issuing L/Cs;
  • Familiar with the financial attributes and market dynamics of commodities, able to formulate effective market strategies based on resource advantages;
  • Experience in financial management, including fund optimization, exchange rate management, and off-balance-sheet financing.
