Application Team Leader

Job Description & Key Responsibilities:

Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned Application Team Leader with a strong technical background and leadership skills to manage and deliver high-impact projects within challenging timelines. This role requires expertise in MicroServices architecture and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. MicroServices Platform Leadership:Design, develop, and maintain a robust MicroServices platform.
   Collaborate with Data Product Managers and Enterprise Architects to align the platform with business goals.
   
2. Project Management:Lead the entire project lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment, ensuring adherence to best practices in project management.
   Prepare project plans, timelines, and budgets, and manage resource allocation.
   Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
   
3. Technical Expertise:Lead the development of APIs and MicroServices using Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Dockers, and related technologies.
   Ensure the technical design meets both functional and non-functional requirements.
   Maintain the MicroServices platform, ensuring it meets SLAs and performs reliably.
   
4. Team Leadership:Guide and mentor a team of developers, providing technical direction and support.
   Foster a collaborative environment, resolving conflicts and ensuring smooth teamwork.
   Manage performance, set clear goals, and provide regular feedback to team members.
   
5. Risk & Issue Management:Identify potential risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
   Maintain an issue register, ensuring all project issues are tracked and resolved.
   
6. Stakeholder Engagement:Act as the primary point of contact for senior management, project sponsors, and other stakeholders.
   Provide regular updates on project progress, and escalate issues as necessary.
   
7. Documentation & Maintenance:Ensure comprehensive documentation of the platform, including API specifications, technical designs, and user guides.
   Oversee the maintenance of the MicroServices platform, including troubleshooting and emergency maintenance activities.
   

Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience:Minimum 10 years in IT/software engineering.
  At least 5 years as a Technical Lead, with experience leading full-lifecycle projects involving API/MicroServices.
  Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Integration, Java, Kubernetes, Dockers, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Nexus, SonarQube, and Bitbucket.
  
• Technical Skills:Proficiency in RESTful and SOAP Web Services, JSON, XML, HTML5, and JavaScript.
  Strong database management skills, with experience in SQL and No-SQL databases, preferably MySQL/MariaDB.
  Working knowledge of UNIX systems and troubleshooting network/OS issues.
  
• Industry Knowledge: Experience in the Banking or Insurance sectors is preferred.

• Project Management Tools: Experience with tools like Microsoft Project, Confluence, Jira, and Kanban Boards.
