Job Description
The incumbent will play a crucial role in the development and launch of the Graduate Admission 3 (GDA3) system to improve the graduate admissions process. As GDA3 nears its critical launch phase, NUS Graduate School (NUSGS) and the College of Design and Engineering (CDE) urgently need a Business Analyst to support the implementation by meeting functional and technical requirements, facilitating stakeholder communication, and analyzing business processes.
The Business Analyst’s responsibilities included:
- Designing and refining configurations, such as letter templates and report queries, to meet specific project needs.
- Partnering closely with users to ensure the accurate and endorsed implementation of requirements.
- Leading training sessions for faculties and schools, ensuring seamless adoption and understanding.
- Conducting thorough verification of business rules and detailed data to ensure accuracy.
- Executing comprehensive functional testing to validate system performance.
- Managing the deployment of changes to production environments with precision.
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex issues promptly.
- Providing expert-level 2nd tier support to address and resolve escalated challenges.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in business analysis or a related field, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or senior business analyst role.
• Business Analysis Techniques:
o Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies, such as Agile, Waterfall, and Lean Six Sigma.
o Proficiency in requirements gathering, process mapping, use case development, and user story creation.
• Project Management:
o Knowledge of project management principles, including risk management, change management, and resource allocation.
o Familiarity with project management software (e.g., JIRA, MS Project, Trello).
• Technical Knowledge:
o Understanding of IT systems, software development life cycle (SDLC), and data analysis tools.
o Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, guide, and inspire a team of business analysts.
o Capable of driving strategic initiatives and aligning project goals with organizational objectives.
• Analytical Thinking:
o Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems and identify effective solutions.
o High attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
• Communication:
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
o Skilled in creating clear and concise documentation, reports, and presentations.
• Stakeholder Management:
o Strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, clients, and project teams.
o Experience in negotiating and managing expectations to achieve project success.
• Adaptability:
o Ability to adapt to changing business environments and priorities.
o Flexibility in managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Technical Proficiency:
o Competency in using business analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Tableau, BPMN tools).
