The Role
We are seeking a Telecommunications Engineer (or similar) to join our team in the railway communication infrastructure sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and deploying communication transport solutions (both fixed and radio) for large international railway projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Analyzing project requirements and proposing appropriate solutions.
- Developing system technical specifications.
- Designing system architectures and ensuring integration with third-party systems.
- Acting as a technical interface with customers and other contractors.
- Performing testing and commissioning work onsite.
- Troubleshooting wired and wireless network systems.
- Providing technical support for systems post-commissioning.
- Conducting onsite testing and commissioning.
The Requirement
- A tertiary qualification in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working with various communication systems technologies such as fiber-optic transmissions, digital trunked radio, public address and telephony, CCTV surveillance, access management, and travel information systems.
- Experience in implementing railway-related projects for the Land Transport Authority (LTA) is an advantage.
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven experience in writing technical proposals and delivering presentations.
- Willingness to work outside of regular office hours as required.
- Self-motivated with a strong service orientation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
