Head of Business Intelligence
(Based in Dubai or Kuala Lumpur)
We are seeking an experienced Head of Business Intelligence to lead a Business Intelligence (BI) team, based in Dubai, at the hiring company’s global HQ.
This role is critical in driving data-driven decision making and lean management strategies across the organisation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of business analytics, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in leveraging data to optimise business performance.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin is required to communicate with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and mentor the Business Intelligence team, which includes various analytics functions (competitor, commercial, user (retail & institutional), product, and marketing analytics) and data application functions (crawling, data warehouse).
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
- Ensure clear communication and alignment across the BI team and other departments.
2. Strategic Transparency and Performance Improvement:
- Bring transparency to strategic priorities and provide actionable recommendations to improve the performance of the company and its core departments.
- Develop and refine business strategies for the company and core departments, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of business logic.
- Continuously monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
3. Business Growth and Optimization:
- Discover new opportunities to grow and optimize the business by leveraging data tools, data techniques, and on-chain intelligence.
- Utilize advanced analytics and business intelligence tools to provide insights and support data-driven decision-making.
- Identify and implement best practices for data management and analysis.
4. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
- Develop strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the company, including Product, Marketing, Operations, and Sales.
- Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
- Ensure alignment of BI initiatives with overall business goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred.
- 10 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field.
- Proven track record in leading and managing large BI teams and complex analytics projects.
- Extensive experience in developing and implementing data-driven strategies.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Deep understanding of business intelligence tools, data analytics techniques, and data management best practices.
- Ability to drive business growth and optimization through data-driven insights.
- Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R) and business intelligence platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience with data warehousing, data crawling, and on-chain intelligence.
- Experience in fast-paced, demanding environments such as crypto, internet or Fintech sectors.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin is required to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
