Job Description:
A sonographer is responsible for providing high quality ultrasound imaging service to patients in a prompt and professional manner.
The Challenges
Responsibilities and Duties
You will be responsible for the following:
§ To perform clinical imaging duties in ultrasound.
§ To assist consultants in ultrasound guided procedures.
§ To oversee the smooth operations of the ultrasound section and ensure proper usage and care of equipment of the section at all times.
§ To ensure quality assurance programmes are implemented and observed as well as initiate system improvement within the section.
§ To deliver accurate and speedy imaging outputs at all times.
§ To produce desired results effectively within given duration and allocated resources.
§ To handle difficult situations like patients’ complaints and queries within the department/ section promptly and effectively.
§ To render prompt and courteous service delivery to external and internal customers.
§ To ensure efficient patient turnaround time per examination.
§ To plan, organize and prioritize assigned tasks such that all are completed effectively and on time.
To adhere to safe work practices especially safety and infection control.
Job Requirements:
Qualification:
· Diploma/Degree in Diagnostic Radiography / Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent
· Accredited by recognized institutions/organizations e.g. Diploma/Degree in Medical Ultrasonography, Graduate diploma in medical Ultrasonography (DMU). American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
Experience:
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in clinical ultrasound.
