Job Responsibilities
- Plans and implements a scheduled program of Preventive Maintenance (PM) for medical equipment and systems.
- Performs PM, Breakdown Maintenance (BM) and commissioning of medical equipment and systems.
- Maintains and updates the database of biomedical equipment.
- Manages and provide renewal of vendor’s service contracts and warranty maintenance program pro-actively
- Liaises with equipment suppliers, user departments and materials management department (MMD) on the requirements, specifications and commissioning of medical equipment and systems.
- Conducts technical evaluation pertaining to purchase of new equipment and systems.
- Implements and monitors the quality assurance and risk management activities pertaining to medical equipment and systems.
- Manages the efficient use of resources (ie equipment, time, physical assets, supplies, etc) in the Department.
- Provides ad-hoc consulting and training services on biomedical engineering matters pertaining to medical equipment and systems
- Promotes teamwork, co-operation and harmonious relationship within the Department and with all other employees of the Hospital.
- Participates in the Hospital’s Committees or workgroups as required.
- Assumes other responsibilities as directed by the BME Manager/ Engineer within the scope of a Biomedical Technical Officer
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned by Managers or other supervisors
Job Requirements
- Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Biomedical Engineering with 2 years of working experience in healthcare industry; or Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Biomedical Engineering with min 1 year of working experience in healthcare industry; or technical experience working in a vendor’s environment as a service staff/ Biomed Department in other Hospital are preferred.
- Must be self-driven and capable of planning and implementing Internal PM.
- Must possess a high level of technical knowledge and skills on BME technology.
- Preferable with experience for hand on in Hospital equipment and attend to hospital breakdown calls
- Awareness for NEA regulatory guidelines is a plus point for Product’s clearance during evaluation of new equipment.
