A major financial institution is seeking a skilled and motivated Application Support Engineer who will be responsible for supporting and timely ticket escalation to relevant stakeholders related to Trading applications and that directly impacts the regional operations of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive application support for trading and post-trade systems within a financial markets environment.
- Perform trade flow tracing, reconciliation, and troubleshooting of post-trade processing systems and data flows.
- Work with infrastructure systems to resolve issues and enhance performance by analyzing system logs.
- Manage capacity assessments and monitor system health for optimization and operational effectiveness.
- Apply ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management to ensure swift and effective resolution.
- Contribute to process automation initiatives, driving improvements in operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with business users, senior management, and technology stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and relationship management.
- Ensure thorough documentation of issues, resolutions, and procedural changes to continuously improve support operations.
- Work on small to medium-scale projects across the production support landscape to enhance service delivery.
The Candidate:
- At least 6 years of application support experience, preferably within Financial Services
- Excellent understanding on ITIL concepts especially in Incident and Problem Management.
- Strong hands-on experience on distributed platforms, database management and scripting. Such as : Unix/Windows, Oracles SQL/MS SQL, Python/Perl
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good attitude towards new challenges and ability to adapt.
- Must be independent and able to work well in a team environment.
