Our newsroom Diversity, Training & Talent team is looking for a seasoned journalist to help shape and guide the next generation of newsroom talent in EMEA and APAC. This role involves supporting the recruitment process and overseeing the development of a diverse group of students for internship programs in both regions, as well as managing a development program for entry-level hires. You will work closely with our recruiting team to identify and attract top diverse talent from universities and colleges, collaborate with local managers to ensure the delivery of inclusive and impactful newsroom internships, and participate in training programs designed to foster a welcoming and diverse workplace. You will also coordinate with similar programs in the Americas and London to ensure alignment on regional diversity and inclusion strategies.
We’ll trust you to:
- Leverage your understanding of diversity challenges across the EMEA and APAC regions to implement effective strategies that promote inclusion
- Inspire and engage young talent from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds
- Think strategically with a global mindset, while understanding regional differences and similarities in EMEA and APAC
- Manage multiple initiatives at once, using strong project management skills
- Take a hands-on approach to talent development, with a focus on continuous improvement and building an inclusive, supportive learning environment
- Collaborate effectively across different regions and teams, ensuring that Diversity & Inclusion remains at the forefront of all initiatives
You'll need to have:
- At least 8 years of experience in business journalism
- Experience leading, developing or mentoring journalists
- Experience working at a real-time news service
- A demonstrated commitment to advancing Diversity & Inclusion initiatives
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with Bureau Chiefs across various locations
- Fluency in both spoken and written English
- Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
- Bachelor's degree or degree-equivalent qualifications
