• Prepare tender submissions, including qualification and quantification documents.
• Coordinate all parties to ensure accurate project analysis and prepare final submission documentation.
• Conduct tender exercises for sub-contracting, including evaluation and contract awards.
• Prepare development plans for clients, aligning with the Master Industry Plan (knowledge of industry trends and Design & Build Tender is preferred).
• Present tender submission proposals to management.
• Present submission proposals to potential clients/consultants and excel in negotiation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in in Quantity Surveyor or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the related field.
• Preferably with experience working for an A1 Main contractor.
• Proficiency in GeBIZ or other e-procurement systems is a plus.

The Design Manager is primarily responsible to lead the coordination within the technical team (Structural, Architectural and M&E).

Besides identifying and resolving design, specifications, construction methodology, sequencing and maintenance issues, balancing contractual obligations, statutory requirements, site progress and product workmanship while ensuring that timely progress of works on site with timely issuance of shop drawings, the Architect will also interface with the Consultants, Client and/or Authorities to ensure the timely resolution of such issues.

A summary of the responsibilities of this position are, and not limited to, as follows:

• Leads the coordination of the technical departments within the office.
• Drives and Monitors the production of schematic design, design development and construction documents i.e. shop drawings, material approval, mock-ups etc.
• Collaborate with Architect and consultants to amicably resolve design and technical issues.
• Aligned with Woh Hup Building Information Modeling / (BIM) / Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) implementation roadmap.
• Drive to improve the skillsets of the technical departments through trainings and knowledge sharing.
• Adherence to safety practices in the workplace.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Registerable with the Singapore Board of Architects
• Comfortable working within a fast-changing environment, ability to multi-task and cope with ambiguity
• Strong communication and interpersonal ability, coupled with influencing skills
• Independent and a self-starter, with strong personal drive to initiate and implement

Technical Competencies

• Proficient in the understanding of the requirements of relevant authorities (ie BCA, SCDF, LTA)

Duties/Responsibilities

Managing and overseeing the Engineering Services Dept.

1. Provide technical knowhow in fabrication & design

2. Provide engineering solutions to ensure smooth project implementation within budget, safety and statutory regulation concerns.

3. Ensure coordination between clients, fabrication, site works in the technical specifications.

4. Liaise with QP from project initial stage to final stage on drawing submissions, approval, amendments.

5. Prepare documents to submit to the regulatory authorities

Prepare risk management plan

1. Plan in advance for any emergency issue

2. Check and ensure the design drawing is accurate before fabrication to avoid re -work

3. Check and ensure the design drawing is accurate before installation on site

Participant in tender presentation and projects meeting

1) Provide technical support / solutions during project tender

2) Participate in tender presentation / clarification meetings

3) Attend progress meetings, discuss and suggest technical proposals.

Manage a team with good technical knowledge & innovation in fabrication design
