The Precast Installation Engineer is responsible for overseeing and the installation of precast concrete components on construction sites. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, and managing high standards of safety and quality throughout the installation process.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination:
- Develop detailed installation plans and schedules in collaboration with the project manager and other team members.
- Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and installation of precast components.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate installation.
Installation Management:
- Supervise the installation of precast concrete components, ensuring adherence to engineering specifications and project timelines.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure all installations meet quality and safety standards and address any non-conformities promptly.
Technical Support:
- Provide technical guidance and support to the installation crew, including troubleshooting and resolving installation challenges.
- Liaise with the design team to clarify any technical queries and ensure accurate implementation of design specifications.
- Conduct pre-installation meetings to brief the installation team on project requirements and safety protocols.
Quality Assurance and Control:
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure high standards of workmanship and compliance with project specifications.
- Perform regular inspections and tests to verify the quality of installed precast components.
- Document and report any quality issues, and work with the project team to implement corrective measures.
Safety Management:
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards during the installation process.
- Conduct regular safety audits and provide training to the installation crew on safe work practices.
- Address any safety concerns promptly and implement measures to mitigate risks.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of installation activities, including daily progress reports, site inspections and material deliveries
- Prepare and submit regular reports to the project manager, highlighting progress, challenges, and any deviations from the project plan.
- Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognized university
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience and knowledge in precast field
- Registered RE with IES
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
