We aim to develop advanced AI models for creating cardiac digital twins, i.e., personalized virtual heart models. We will employ the dataset (imaging, ECG, electronic medical records, etc) collected from patients, to accurately modelling the anatomy and simulate the function of patients' diseased hearts. These models, coupled with machine learning techniques, contribute to the identification of crucial mechanistic relationships and features that offer insights into the trajectory of a patient's heart condition. The research will delve into the intersection of AI and cardiac sciences, exploring novel approaches to revolutionize our understanding of the human heart. The research emphasizes the transformative role of digital technologies and AI in public health management.

Tasks:

• Conduct literature reviews on the use of digital technologies and AI applications in public health, focusing on dengue and Covid-19 prevention, monitoring, and control.
• Assist with data collection through interviews with stakeholders (public health officials, tech developers, researchers) and through document analysis of government reports, policies, and relevant publications.
• Support comparative analysis of prevention strategies, focusing on digital technologies (mobile apps, AI, IoT, drones) used in different countries.

We are recruiting 2 researchers to work on a major research project on building trust and digital resilience:

We are seeking applications for two full-time postdoctoral researcher/research fellow positions to work on building a theoretical framework to examine factors that affect public trust in digitalization, alongside trust in government and public institutions to manage associated risks. Through multi-city large scale surveys and online experiments, the study seeks to understand public attitudes towards technology, the digital information pipeline, and the role of government. This research will contribute to policy design and the implementation of digital technologies in a way that is sensitive to public concerns and expectations.

The two positions are available from Q3 2024 (reasonably earlier or later start date is negotiable) for 3 years each. The researchers are expected to have significant experience in designing and conducting survey research with a focus on digital technologies, platforms, AI, public trust, or other closely related areas. The project using a policy design lens will contribute to the literature on building trust in digitalization through mixed-method research in multiple phases. The project will conceptualise trust in digital information and examining factors such as trust in technology and trust in government.

Job Description

The Department of English, Linguistics and Theatre Studies at Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, National University of Singapore (NUS) is recruiting ONE Research Fellow to work on a Social Science and Humanities Research (SSHR) Fellowship project, “Archipelagic Mappings and Performance Routes, Routers, and Networks (1840–1940),” directed by the Principal Investigator (PI), Assistant Professor Alvin Eng Hui Lim. The position will be based in Singapore with an intended start date of August 2024 for a period of two years.

The SSHR Fellowship-funded project seeks to study early waves of interculturalism and performance-making during the colonial period and identify obvious gaps in research on the theatrical networks and performance routes of the nineteenth century to early twentieth century. The project will theorise and document the circulation and travels of theatre, dance, and performance against the backdrop of colonial expansion, territorialisation, cultural diplomacy, trade, and technological development between 1840 to 1940. By situating Singapore as a significant node, the study will trace the networks that existed between urban centres, port cities, and the sea routes (namely, along the Malacca and Singapore Straits and diverging across Australia, Hong Kong and the Southern provinces of China, to name a few) that performance practices and performers travelled on as they embarked and disembarked, evolved, or took root across places in the region. These networks will be visualised and narrated through storymaps and digital scholarship, ensuring that the histories of individual traditions are not told in isolation but interwoven into a connected history of performance-making in the region.

The successful applicant will be offered a contract of 24 months from the date of hire. S/he will receive an attractive monthly remuneration depending on experience and qualifications. Scope and responsibilities

The Research Fellow (Digital Humanities) will work with the Principal Investigator (PI) to:
