Machine Learning systems team provides E2E machine learning experience and machine learning resources for the company. The National University of Singapore (NUS) Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering invites application for one (1) Research Fellow position in the area of intelligent transportation systems with emphasis on system development, deployment, integration, and delivery.

The candidate is expected to work on

(1) research projects related to smart lamp post development, deployment, integration, and delivery for related applications under the Cisco-NUS Accelerated Digital Economy Corporate Laboratory.

(2) Work with contractors and agencies for systems hardware and software development and field deployment and must be willing to go on field and discuss on progress with contractors appointed to work on the trials. Job Scope

• Develop strong modelling research that contribute to project deliverables.
• Contribute to project presentations and reports, and publish articles in reputable academic journals.

Requirements

• Possess a PhD degree in the fields of energy and climate economics, energy systems modelling, operations research, management science, or other related quantitative research fields.
• A good understanding and interest in energy, climate change and related policy issues, such as energy supply and demand, regional power grids, energy and the environment, climate change and the Paris Agreement.
• Relevant research experience using climate change / energy modelling tools, such as the Integrated Assessment Model, and power dispatch model, optimization approach, etc. A good knowledge of programming language (e.g., Python) would be an advantage.
• A solid knowledge of optimization methodologies would be highly valuable.
• Relevant working and practical experience in industry or government agencies in the area of energy and environment would be highly valuable.
• Relevant research experience on the ASEAN region would be an advantage.
• Published in reputable energy, environmental and/or systems modelling related journals.
• Has a strong written and oral command of the English language.

Nuevocor’s Singapore R&D site is seeking to hire Research Associates/Technicians to expand our internal research capabilities. You will be joining a close-knit team where you will work closely with company scientists.

Responsibilities

- Work with company scientists to execute and troubleshoot experiments in a variety of areas, including target discovery, target validation, and lead optimization of gene therapy for genetic cardiomyopathies

- Contribute to multiple projects to achieve project milestones and meet timelines

- Keep detailed and accurate records of experimental protocols and data

- Support scientists in data analysis and progress reports

- Contribute to lab management

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related fields; Polytechnic certifications will be considered for Technician positions

- Experience or prior exposure to any of the following areas is preferred:

• Handling of mouse models, such as transgenic colony management, administration of drugs, tissue extraction and processing, histology, and molecular assays;
