The Research Fellow in Computational Immunology/Bioinformatics will play a key role in advancing our research projects by conducting expert analyses of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data. Optimizing the performance of health systems is essential to ensuring the wellbeing and longevity of populations worldwide. Singapore is particularly well placed to lead research in this field as its health system has been consistently ranked as one of the best in the world based on independent evaluation with the Global Burden of Disease data. The new Centre for Research in Health Systems Performance (CRiHSP) aims to advance research in this area within the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine of the National University of Singapore (NUS) as the leading centre for research in health systems in Asia with the following core functions:

1. Research: empirical and methodological research and evidence synthesis on health systems performance with a particular focus on Value Based Healthcare.
2. Health policy intelligence: health policy impact analysis aimed at policy makers, service providers, researchers, and the wider public.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Research Associate will have the following duties:

• Contribution to the management of research activities including grant and IRB/DSRB applications, budgeting, planning and monitoring project timelines and generally support project management and coordination and liasing with internal and external stakeholders
• Conduct literature reviews, including collation and synthesis of the literature
• Conducting policy analysis: problem definition, data gathering, stakeholders identification, describe policies, assess alternatives, evaluate their impacts using qualitative and quantitative methods and develop clear recommendations in the for of policy briefs

Job Description

The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) at the National University of Singapore (NUS), and the French-Singaporean international laboratory (Majulab), are seeking a talented postdoctoral fellow to conduct theoretical and numerical investigations on Kardar-Parisi-Zhang (KPZ) physics in quantum systems.

The KPZ equation, introduced in 1986 to describe the growth of rough surfaces, has since become a captivating area of research due to its remarkable universality. The project entails studying three quantum platforms where recent studies have shown signatures of KPZ physics: random quantum circuits, Anderson localization, and exciton-polariton condensate, as detailed in [Nahum et al., PRX 2017; Mu et al., PRL 2024; Fontaine et al., Nature 2023]. All three systems are subject to random fluctuations in their many-body degrees of freedom: (i) in the growth of entanglements in quantum circuits, (ii) in the wavefunction fluctuation of an Anderson localized system, and (iii) in the phase of a driven-dissipative condensate.

Despite being completely different, these systems are strikingly connected by KPZ physics. By following upon this unique cross-platform connection, one has the opportunity to discover new properties in each of these systems that could not have been envisaged otherwise. In this position, the fellow's primary focus will be on the latter two platforms and interact closely with another fellow dedicated to the first platform.

Job Requirements

The candidate should possess a solid academic track record and some prior experience in quantum disordered systems, quantum transport, many-body physics, quantum information, quantum fluids, or cold atoms. Proficiency in numerical simulations is essential.

   Demonstrate knowledge of LCA databases (e.g. Ecoinvent, OpenLCA, SimaPro, GABI) and carbon accounting standards (e.g., GHG Protocol, ISO 14044, ISO 14040, ISO 14067, PAS2050 etc.).
   Demonstrate ability to critically appraise academic literature and life cycle assessments published in various forms (including industry reports)
   Demonstrate knowledge of statistical computing, data science, data modelling, or data visualization languages and software (e.g., PowerBI, Python, R, SAS, SPSS, SQL, Tableau, etc.).

Job Description

The successful candidate will work with Assoc/Prof Wu Jie under a project on photocatalysis.

The main responsibilities of the position include:

1. Perform high quality research under PI’s supervision.
2. Draft and publish high impact journals
3. Help PI to write research grant
4. Mentor junior research students

Qualifications / Discipline:

• Postdoc fellow candidate must hold (or be close to obtaining) an internationally recognized Ph.D. degree in organic chemistry, and should have proven track record of excellence in experimental research.
