• Coordinate with infrastructure teams to resolve issues with network, servers or other infrastructure devices or services that impact the normal work of end users
• Support hardware and software changes (e.g. hardware device change/refresh, system upgrade/migration, patch update, etc.) for end users
• Asset management support for end user devices by following defined processes
• Provide smart hand support for all kinds of hardware such as printers, servers, network devices, backup devices, meeting room equipment, scientific devices etc.

We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to help automate and streamline our development, deployment, release and production processes at Spark.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Build and set up new development tools and infrastructure, in particular (but not limited to) CI/CD tools and processes
• Work on ways to automate and improve development and deployment/release processes for a large number of clients and components across different data centres
• Work with software developers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
• Develop and maintain tools and processes to ensure the smooth running of production systems
• Improve visibility and response times to production problems

Educational Background and experience

• Degree educated in an Engineering or Computer Science related subject
• At least 5+ years of experience in DevOps or related activities
• Proven track record of building and supporting DevOps platforms for a large-scale enterprise

Required Skills and experiences

• Strong technical background, with hands-on experience in setting up and supporting CI/CD toolset (Gitlab, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarQube, Jira and Confluence)
• Excellent experience in developing automated deployment of applications and servers using Ansible or related technology
• Excellent knowledge of Linux / UNIX, bash or Perl or scripting skills such as Python, Groovy
• Good knowledge of Dockers, Kubernetes and etc. and experience of applying these to solve development and deployment issues
• Working knowledge of SQL databases, queries and stored procedures
• Passionate about automation and can bring in new ideas on how automation can be used to improve software delivery and client experience
