Responsibilities:
To carry out all of the functions and obligations of a site supervisor as outlined in the Building Control Act.
Ensure that the M&E works are carried out in conformity with the Building Control Act and Regulations, as well as the plans and specifications.
Monitor and report on the progress of the work.
Conduct an examination of M&E engineering works prior to concreting, future construction work, and defect rectification work.
To supervise and examine the work as ordered by the Supervision QP, CRE, SRE, consultants, or Superintending Officer.
To oversee and supervise the Resident Technical Officer in his responsibility.
Ensure that all mechanical and engineering work records, including test results, defect correction, inspections, work progress, material and equipment on site, and safety, are regularly updated and maintained.
Participating in site, progress, variation, and coordination meetings.
Verifying all M&E-related reports and claims provided by contractors.
Liaise with all relevant authorities and stakeholders to keep proper and up-to-date daily records of all work completed, including records of tests, inspections, work status, safety, site diary, material and equipment on site, labor force, day work, provisional items or quantities, and so on.
Keeping an exact record of variations as ordered or allowed by the Superintending Officer, as well as maintaining a set of updated drawings on-site.
Check all drawings, including shop drawings, construction drawings, and specifications, for errors and notify the Supervision QP, consultants, or Superintending Officer.
Requirements:
The Professional Engineers Board of Singapore recognises degrees/diplomas in mechanical or electrical engineering.
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience as a mechanical and electrical engineer, with at least three (3) years spent supervising work similar to significant construction projects in buildings, service laying, and lighting and control systems.
Preferably with experience in the supervision of infrastructure installation, lighting, and control systems.
