Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) is hiring a full-time Research Engineer I for a project investigating how information cascades in closed messaging app groups, such as Telegram.

The engineer will be developing and applying machine learning, network analysis, and multimodal data to understand information cascades in closed messaging apps.  The engineer is expected to conduct data mining, network analysis and machine learning on Telegram chats to understand information cascades revolving national issues in closed messaging apps. The engineer will work closely with research project members at WKWSCI, to deliver algorithms that automate user classification and topic modelling, that will later serve as protocols for other topics.

The Institute for Digital Molecular Analytics and Science (IDMxS) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.

Polarisation variations in a focused beam are not restricted by the traditional diffraction limit and superoscillatory, i.e. very high spatial frequency, variations are possible. Engineering of focused polarisation structures can be achieved, for example, through wavefront shaping and polarisation control of incident beams. Illumination of proteins or other small bioparticles with such superoscillatory polarisation structured light offers opportunities in detection of conformational changes or nano-displacements which can observed with high sensitivity in polarisation space, even though there is no observable variation in the intensity domain. In this project we seek to determine optimal polarisation structures and determine expected sensitivity through analytic and computational means. Viability of experimental detection will be assessed and potentially pursued.

• Collaborate with the aircraft design team to provide input on structural considerations during the design phase.
• Develop, validate, and execute FEM models to analyse stress, strain, and deformation of aircraft structures.
• Perform static and dynamic analysis using FEM tools and methodologies.
• Investigate and identify the root causes of structural failures or anomalies, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
• Plan and conduct critical stress testing including the material equivalency test, sub-component test and proof load test, etc.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement design improvements based on analysis findings.
• Ensure that all structural designs and analyses comply with relevant aviation regulations and industry standards.

Job Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Stress Engineer in the aerospace industry or automobile industry.
• Strong proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools and software.
• Experience in CAD Modelling.
• Familiarity with carbon fibre materials and relevant industry regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
• Fluent English skill is a must.

Position Description

experience may also be considered. Responsibilities

The eVTOL Research and Innovation Centre at School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, is looking for a Research Engineer II in the area of Electrical Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of both high voltage and low voltage power systems for eVTOL aircraft, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

• Identify and select appropriate high and low voltage components, such as circuit breakers, control panels, and converters, considering efficiency, reliability, and weight constraints.

• Develop detailed specifications for electrical system, working closely with harness and electrical component suppliers, provide technical guidance and support to ensure compliance with design requirements.

• Design the electrical schematic drawings for eVTOL.

• Guide the EWIS supplier to design high and low voltage harness drawings.

• Manage and ensure the product to fulfil industry standards and compliance.

• Plan and conduct harness ATS testing with elections.

• Plan and conduct lab test, ground test and flight test of the electrical system.

• Document the description, electrical load analysis, test plan and environment test report for electrical system.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, aerospace Engineering, or related field.

• Proven experience in designing high voltage power systems for automobile or aircraft.

• In-depth knowledge of electrical system architecture and components, with a focus on high voltage applications.

• Familiar with AS50881H, AIR6127 standards.

• Experience with aviation certification processes is a plus.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

• Fluent English skill is a must.
