We are seeking a Civil Engineer with similar values, who can put his or her expertise to work on the New Chemical Project Construction site in PCS, Ayer Merbau, Jurong Island. This professional will be responsible for serving as the representative of CSB design, and CSB Work planning and supervising at the site. He or she will be expected to ensure compliance with all procedures, regulations, and codes, and present progress updates to appropriate management channels on a regular basis. With each project, this individual is counted on to drive the innovation we are known for.
Objectives of this Role
· Manage and oversee the review and permitting processes for the government and local authorities.
· Apply technical knowledge in the development of feed design and the Owner’s requirement for the project specifications.
· Design and manage the project with an eye on safety, scheduling and budget.
· Review and coordinate the sub-contractor’s design with HQ engineers.
· Oversee and provide direction to general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors when doing groundwork ensuring quality standards are met.
· Liaise between HQ engineers, architects, and others working on the project.
· Responsible for coordinating and supervision of Pilling work, Foundation work, Civil work, Structure work and M/E work, including coordination with Owner and the other work of Plant Mechanical work, Piping work, Plant Electrical work, Instrument work, etc.
· Adhere to legal regulations, building and safety codes, and other requirements.
· Coordinated internal and external resources, ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule, and defined budgets, in collaboration with the project management team at the Construction site in Jurong Island, HQ in Japan and Japanese client.
· Collaborate with Clients, engineers, and other specialists, and hire full-time and part-time subcontractors and laborers, and coordinate their schedules.
· Attend coordination and progress meetings; make regular trips to sites during construction including bid walks, preconstruction walks, in-progress site visits, punch walks, and construction closeouts.
· Respond to work delays, emergencies, and other project disruptions.
Skills and Qualifications
· Master’s degree in civil engineering.
· Must possess working experience in Jurong Island.
· Minimum 10+ years’ relevant working experience.
· Familiar with the local authority requirement.
· Strong in the supervision of construction activities in Oil & Gas plant and/or Petrochemical plant.
· Excellent skills in BIM and 2D CAD software.
· Good knowledge of construction methods and technologies, and ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts.
· Knowledge of building code requirements and scheduling methods
· Knowledge of job site safety practices required.
Preferred Qualifications
· Fluent or solid working knowledge of Japanese (The client is a Japanese firm).
· Working knowledge of green building practices.
· Project management experience with emphasis on direct supervision.
