This pivotal role involves translating client needs and R&D findings into practical engineering documents and innovative products while supporting the business development team.

What you will be doing

Product Development and Features:

• Lead the design and development of new water treatment products, focusing on process design, automation, and mechanical and electrical aspects.

Client-Centric Design:

• Work closely with clients and the operation team to understand their requirements and incorporate these into product design.

• Assist the business development team in creating technical proposals and presentations.
• Provide technical expertise in client meetings and product demonstrations.

Strategic Planning and Execution:

• Develop strategic plans for the engineering department, focusing on long-term technology development.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
• Significant experience in water treatment, oil & gas technologies specially in engineering department and product development.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key areas of responsibility

• Coordinate and administrative/documentary support on installations, relocation and commissioning of instruments
• Provide prompt and efficient on or off-site corrective or preventive maintenance according to contracts/requirements
• Weekend standby on rotational basis and to be on-site when needed/requested by customers to ensure service continuity
• 24/7 hotline supports, able to provide prompt response in service-related issues when customer calls and onsite if needed for emergency case.
• Liaise with Service admin to keep track on instruments preventive maintenance status on site
• Ensure items/tools/instrument calibration status always regulatory compliance
• Service report documentation, liaise with Service admin for necessary follow-up action
• Evaluating and resolving customer instrument problems
• Liaising with and work alongside customers and suppliers on problems encountered
• Liaising with members of the sales team and other technical experts
• Maintaining technical manuals, service spare parts quantity/status
• Ad-hoc projects and assignments

Requirements:

• Degree in Biomedical/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or higher
• Minimum 2 years of experience in on-site troubleshooting for scientific and/or Biomedical diagnostics equipment
• Willing to work overtime as needed by customers to ensure service continuity, including emergency onsite troubleshooting of instrument.
• Willing to be stationed in oversea counterpart company, to tag along with experience engineers for on-job training when required
• Willing to travel aboard for technical support when requested
• To work productively with minimal supervision

Satellite Research Centre (SaRC) is dedicated to perform R&D projects in space science and technology. SaRC has successfully developed, launched, and operated 9 satellites in orbit. The centre has more than 10 years of accumulated experiences and data for satellite design and operation. SaRC has a full-fledged of facilities to realize the spacecraft simulation, testing, integration, and operation. The engineering laboratory, clean rooms and mission control room are equipped with specialized equipment such as the thermal vacuum chamber. SaRC is working closely with local SME, regional MNC, universities, and space agencies. The objective is to share and collaborate with expertise around the globe to achieve excellence in space.

We are looking for a responsible Principal Research Engineer in Satellite System Electronic Hardware.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop MCU/MPU/SOC platform
• Analyze system requirements and generate modular specifications
• Identify and qualify components for spacecraft operation
• Build, test and modify prototypes
• Circuit validation and system operational validation
• Test and characterize circuits
• Code and debug in embedded C
• FPGA programming
• Guide/design printed circuits to comply to EMC/EMI requirements

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor‘s /Master degree and above in Electronic Engineering or related field from a reputable university
• Diploma with good industry experience may also be considered
• Experience in MCU/MPU/SOC embedded system platform design and programming
• Good understanding and ability in analog and digital circuit design
• Proficient and good skill in pcb artwork such as Altium or Orcad.
• Knowledge of various embedded hardware and application systems
• Experience in generation of design specification documentation, schematic capture, and circuit analysis and simulation
• Experience with debugging tools such as bus and spectrum analyzer
• Experience in CAN, SPI, I2C bus protocols
• Able to multi-task and work in a dynamic environment.
• Fluent verbal and written communications in English - essential for data analysis and communication with stakeholders
• Complete full product life cycle in Satellite system
• Experiences in FPGA, Analog or RF design.

• Responsible for Progress Claims, Variation Orders, Final Accounts and Sub-contractor Progress Claims.
• Taking off quantities, obtaining quotations from subcontractors and vendor/manufacturer
• Provide estimates and evaluate costing to achieve competitive costing for tender submission
