Finance Director – Singapore Lead

Key responsibilities

Finance/ Commercial Delivery

•Assist in managing, controlling, and directing the financial functions of the client finance teams.

•Business partner with Singapore and Data Centre GAE to enhance operational efficiency and improve client delivery.

•Serve as a primary point of escalation for both internal and external client-related issues and help maintain robust client relationships.

•Assist in tracking contractual KPIs and SLAs with clients and conduct periodic reviews with client finance leads.

•Contribute to effective stakeholder management across diverse business requirements.

•Support the development and implementation of best practices and innovative client finance solutions.

•Participate in new business initiatives, including contributing to RFPs and client presentations.

•Offer support in strategic decision-making related to contracts, pricing, and operational processes.

•Help ensure compliance with internal controls and support the evolution of these controls to align with Corporate Solutions SOC1 attestations.

•Co-manage governance and compliance oversight over client and JLL set of books, including leadership over audits or reviews as necessary.

•Support the maintenance of cash and balance sheet health and manage finance cost-to-serve in accounts P&L.

•Engage in broader Finance and Business strategic initiatives

•Collaborate with Finance Directors across Non-SEA regions to source and recruit top-tier finance leads for new and/or existing accounts

Transitions and Business Transformation

•Assist in managing client onboarding and offboarding resource models.

•Support commercial validation and risk assessment during transitions and transformations.

•Act as a business partner with the Client Finance Transition Team, TMO, Sales, Procurement, Legal, and HR SMEs.

•Help guide client finance teams through the stabilization period.

•Identify opportunities to address risks and drive cost efficiencies through enhanced support models.

•Contribute to business process improvements through technology product rollouts.

•Collaborate with JBS to optimize the use of centralized structures

Leading the Team

•Contribute to defining career paths and succession planning within the finance team.

Role Overview:

As a Finance Senior Executive, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of financial accounting in accordance with statutory requirements. You will provide accurate and data-based information on companys profitability, solvency, stability and liquidity to help the company make well-informed decisions and monitor financial movements.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Manage all aspects of the financial accounting cycle, including but not limited to bank reconciliations, A/R and A/P transactions, general ledger, as well as inter-company accounting and reconciliations.
• Perform weekly retail receipt reconciliations and follow up with the relevant store in-charge regarding any open invoices to ensure timely resolution.
• Own the preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting analysis as a key participant in the financial close process.
• Ensure timely and accurate closing of finance and accounting activities - monthly, quarterly and annually.
• Full financial reporting, including preparing key reports; variance analysis (by product/category, by business unit); updating financial scorecards; rolling forecasts; other in-depth analysis of the financial performance.
• Update and track cash flow weekly, comparing actual versus budget, and ensuring the business is informed of its liquidity position.
• Preparation of documents for turnover and grant audits, quarterly GST filing and statutory reports for submission to the relevant authorities.
• Assists in identifying potential improvements to existing systems and processes, areas for cost savings and optimisation.
• Plays an active role in the maintenance and review of policies and procedures, including ensuring they are up to date with all regulatory requirements and best practices.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with retail or beauty spa background preferred.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to handle large data sets is critical.
• Strong analytical skills, meticulous.
• Possesses a sense of inquisitiveness on work matters.
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively, as part of a team with strong work ethic.

The Finance Department ensures IPOS' financial resources are efficiently managed through proper allocation of resources and funds management. The Department is looking for a new team member to execute activities for budget planning and administration to support the business operations and strategic outcomes of the organisation.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Assistant Director, Finance, you will:

Budget Management and Analysis:

1. Oversee the annual budgeting/forecasting exercise and operational budgeting process in the WorkDay system to ensure optimal resource allocation to achieve strategic outcomes.
2. Work with budget representatives to evaluate and review budget submissions by using appropriate financial indicators and benchmarks for reasonableness.
3. Prepare the budget presentation and make suitable recommendations on budget implications for Board’s approval.
4. Review actual budget utilisation, investigate the underlying reasons for the variances and recommend appropriate actions to improve budget markmanship.
5. Provide business partnering to departments and offer sound advice on financial planning and
6. analysis.
7. Review and update policies and procedures as required, including leading IT-related implementation and enhancement projects.
8. Take on other ad-hoc finance duties as assigned.

Overall, Purpose of the role

The Finance Director is responsible for the financial management of Singapore business and leads a team of around 15 people based in Singapore across Finance, Commercial and, D&T.

The Finance Director is expected to be a proactive, collaborative and insightful partner to the business and see their role as being integral to helping drive financial and operational performance. This requires the Finance Director to be engaging widely across the business to understand internal and external customer needs, and providing the strategic and commercial insight and information systems that will enable business success.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

• Developing business insights:Actively consult the business to understand the needs of operators and clients and analyze key business drivers to develop and make available commercial insight that will help empower and challenge the business to deliver better performance.
• Developing growth ideas: Actively contribute to the strategic growth agenda of the overall portfolio as well as individual business units, identifying and assessing market opportunities, and reviewing the alignment between strategy and the business model.
• Relentlessly driving efficiency:Rolling up the sleeves to ensure the business’s profit and cash is continuously enhanced by tight financial controls, cash flow and working capital management, and the streamlining of business processes. 1) Job Specific Responsibilities

• Provide support to MD in all financial matters, while driving country strategy and growth plans.
• Be across all commercial and client matters in relation to the country, understanding the intricacies of key contracts.
• Proactively highlight and manage risks and opportunities associated with the country, ensuring these are given the appropriate attention by the business.
• Thorough attention to detail and being highly analytical, alerting MD of key issues on a timely basis and maintaining regular communication.
• Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely group reporting, including coordinating of Budgets, Forecasts and 3-year plan process for the business.
• Oversight and governance of MAP 4 and 5 controls supporting MD to ensure adherence to process and policies by team members.
• Drive efficiencies working across finance /procurement/ commercial teams through system and process improvements.
• Cultivate productive working relationships at all levels, which support the nurturing of internal and external relationships, facilitates cooperation trust and respect, values differences and diversity and guides, mentors and focuses on the development of people as part of the Leadership Team. Be the Operations managers ‘Go To’ advisor for Finance matters, as well as challenge them when needed.

2) Strategic Responsibilities

• Partner MD with the business strategic planning which includes the annual 3-year planning process.
• In collaboration with the MD challenge the market landscape, and business models adopted in the business, identifying opportunities for growth and efficiency.

3) Commercial Responsibilities

• Support Procurement and Operations teams on delivery of high performing management accounts, budgets, forecasts and 3-year plans for the country.
• Ensure that the month end process efficiency is maintained, and that rest of leadership team collaborates with the rest of the Finance team to complete on time.
• Proactively manage the working capital components and Audit process for the business
• Oversee the production of value-add analysis of operational and financial KPIs as well as provision of insights to key stakeholders.
• Support new business process and review of models for group approval while ensuring adherence to the group approval manual.
• Provide insightful, timely, accurate and meaningful analysis to the business.
• Support M&A activity as needed.
• Ensure the ongoing maintenance of the Group’s Key Financial Controls (KFCs) and work with other control owners, with support from the Managing Director, to ensure that the Group’s KFCs are complied with

• ACCA / CPA Qualified
• Experience in a Financial leadership (or similar) role within a developing but complex business
