The Role Responsibilities
Strategy
Assist the Business Head - Global Head, Advisory & Managed Investments (AMI) & the WM COO to –
· implement the business strategy and platforms across AMI, ensuring process efficiencies and optimum controls are embedded upfront. The role covers the global responsibilities for AMI – specifically Advisory, Digital Platforms & Sustainable Investments.
· govern the operational infrastructure at Group AMI to maintain effectiveness of controls and risk management. The role covers global responsibilities for AMI governance w.r.t the specific areas above.
· implement an effective control framework within the business unit to ensure operational risks and controls are being managed appropriately at the business unit level in a proactive, risk based and disciplined manner to meet external, internal and regulatory requirements.
· promote a strong risk management and compliance culture through Risk and Control Self Assessment (RCSA) and business engagement.
Business
· Work closely with business / Product teams on new initiatives & change management, including process & platform changes.
· Support the business on initiatives across a wide range of themes including: process improvement and control, regulatory implementation and implementation of bank wide policy, risk and control requirements.
· Assist the Business Head to oversee the team operations and identify any emerging / potential risks. Recommend and implement actions / solutions to mitigate operational risks and enhance compliance.
Processes
· Identify areas of process improvement and platform efficiencies for enhanced client, FO or WMO experience.
· Work with BRM in identifying risks in product and process changes. Ensure that the operational risk implications of changes are anticipated and notified to appropriate stakeholders. Escalate to appropriate stakeholders when operational risks have the potential to breach tolerance levels.
· Participate in the investigation / review of operational risk exposure (internal and external) as it arises. Value-add to the business unit by identifying new, thematic and developing risks, providing operational risk advice through RCSA and ad hoc reviews
· Support with robust follow-up of issues raised by regulators, internal and external auditors, client complaints, etc. Work with BRM team to ensure risk and loss information are inputted into Ops Risk systems / notified to committees, and escalated where action is not timely / not taken.
Risk Management
· Cross team collaboration – proactive engagement with 1st line business, products and with BRM, Country WM, etc and all other relevant parties responsible for operational risk and compliance.
· Work in collaboration with risk and control partners in 2nd line (CFCC, GOR).
Governance
· Assist with assessing the effectiveness of the Group’s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas
· Help build awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
· Assist with delivery of ‘effective governance’; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
· Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
· Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
· Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

· Internal Stakeholders: Global MI Head, Global MI team, Country MI team, Country WM COO team, 2nd line risk teams, Operations, others.
· External Stakeholders: External Auditors; Regulators
Other Responsibilities

· Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Business & Functional policies and procedures;
Our Ideal Candidate
· 4+ years of Wealth Management experience in a Financial institution or Global Corporation in Banking
· Sound understanding of Wealth Management – product and processes
· Good to have a certification in Digital WM / Fintech / Sustainable Finance
· Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including senior management and third-party vendors, across multiple locations
· Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills
