Perfume creation is an essential element of the product development process at Procter & Gamble. Our Beauty Brands, ranging from Hair Care, Body Care and Skin Care, are used by Billions of consumers around the world and have some of the most iconic & irresistibly delightful fragrances in consumer products.
Developing a superior fragrance for a P&G product requires a combination of strong scientific and artistic skills, understanding of our brand equities, consumer needs, as well as mechanistic understanding P&G's technologies.

YOUR TEAM
At the Singapore Innovation Center, you will be part of a passionate team of Perfumers and Perfume Designers with expertise across Categories and Regions. You will have the opportunity to work in multi-functional teams and engage with both internal and external partners.
HOW SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
The successful candidate will undergo a comprehensive 1-2 years' P&G perfumery program that includes a detailed understanding of the fundamental science and technology of perfumery as well as formulation strategies. In this role, achieving success can be described as below:
- Contribute to category growth through irresistible superior fragrances for Asia Beauty Care products.
- Develop Mastery in regional consumer’s scent needs and preferences. Discover insights in perfume formulation that are broadly re-applicable.
- Develop and expand scientific models and tools that enable creation of new consumer winning perfume formulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create irresistibly superior fragrances for our Beauty Care products based on technical briefs from the Category teams.
- Participate in olfactory evaluations of fragrances at consumer relevant touch points with perfume designers.
- Generate and interpret data that will help develop fragrances, solve problems, and make discoveries against project needs and problem resolution.
- Solve technical challenges typically encountered during the creation of fragrances for P&G products.
- Develop cross-functional networking skills for reapplying knowledge (methods, perfume, technologies) across categories.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Science or Engineering with a strong aptitude for chemistry or related areas.
- 3 years formal training / experience in Perfumery. Experience / understanding of Asian consumers olfactive preferences and consumer goods market.
- Strong passion for the art and science of perfumery often measured by the predilection for perseverance, persistent scientific approach as well as evidence of aesthetic intuition.
- An acute sense of smell. You must pass an odor acuity test to determine the abilities to discriminate odors and build odor memory. This will be reviewed and/or monitored by a Senior or Master Perfumer.
- Demonstrate a strong creative talent and a passion to use this creativity on the job, and ability to immerse in new subject matter, be self-motivated, learn quickly and develop mastery, perseverance and resilience in the face of challenges and failure.
- Passion for getting into the lab, developing perfume formulas through careful experimentation and identifies ways to improve and accelerate perfume creation through modeling and Digital capabilities.
- Strong leadership, collaboration, presentation & communication skills (oral & written communication) to work with people from different cultures and levels, both internally and externally, to bring out the best skills and capabilities in pursuit of winning perfumes.
