Job Description
The WTSS is to manage safe access of track access and Works Train consist movement at the DTL project
Defined Areas within the station/tunnels/access shaft/depot
His duties are:
· Perform duties of a WTSS, as trained, at a temporary staging area, access shaft, depot, or mainline environment.
· Enforce the rules and regulations as trained in accordance with the Works Train manual.
· Ensure safe movement of Works Train consists/trains inside the Defined Areas in mainline station trackside and tunnels, lifting shaft or depots.
· Ensure safe access by person-in-charge and work parties in an energized Defined Area.
· Local control of all access, person-in-charge, work parties, and Works Train movement within Defined Area under his charge.
· Issue, control and maintain Works Train signage and equipment under his charge.
· Assist the Works Train controller/control centers in shunting Works Trains inside the Defined Area.
· Work with the Works Train controller, the Works Train consists and executes the instructions of the Works Train controller.
· Setting up of protection e.g sector limit boards, red flashing lights, short circuit devices, and throwing and securing of points.
· Assist in the on-the-job training of new WTSS attached to his workstation.
· Perform any other duties assigned by the Works Train Manager or his representatives
Job Requirements
· NTC 2/3, GCE O-level or equivalent qualifications
· To perform any allocated shift
· To work independently and take instructions from the WTCO
· To take charge, monitor, and control small workgroups
· To report for duty during exigencies, etc.
· To handle situations, incidents, and accidents and implement recovery.
· Measures in a calm and systematic manner
· To perform physical works in construction environments
