YOUR ROLE:

We are looking for a designer who is looking to join an amazing design team and seeking to grow their UX and UI skillsets within a consultancy environment. You can execute the required design activities based on the project objectives. You are capable of conducting UX research activities such as moderated user interviews, and execute UI design for development handoff. We want someone who has an understanding of the full spectrum of design and development. You should be keen to learn on the job and feel comfortable in pairing up with PMs, engineers, researchers and content strategists to oversee the user experience of a product from conception to launch.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Execute the design activities based on the project objectives and timeline.
• Familiar with user research methods such as user interviews, heuristic review, competitive analysis, and have the capability to synthesise findings to actionable insights.
• Lead and facilitate co-creation sessions with various stakeholders.
• Visualize, design and conceptualize the user experience in service blueprints, journey maps, etc.
• Present concepts and UX solutions as compelling stories to clients.
• Have great communication and presentation skills, be an active listener and be able to represent the users’ needs as well as gather user requirements.
• Sketch wireframes, define interaction specifications, build clickable prototypes, and create detailed high-fidelity mock-ups ready for development.
• Create highly aesthetic visual design language based on the brand guidelines and translate it to a functional design system.

WHO YOU ARE:

Graduated with a Bachelor's degree and you have a proven relevant experience of at least 3 years. You are passionate about new technologies, digital innovations and design. You might be working in large teams or as an individual contributor, however, you have a fair understanding of Agile environments. You would be someone who is excited about taking on challenges of client projects and would be willing to initiate UX design activities in such work environments.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Multimedia, Information Architecture, Human Computer Interaction, Instructional or Graphic Design, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in the field of UX and UI.
• Understanding of motion design, HTML, CSS and other technical platforms.
• Knowledge of design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Invision and/or other design tools.
• Experience designing digital experiences web and mobile platforms.
• Experience in agile development processes.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present your designs to clients and teams.
• Able to adapt to different industries and learn new subject matters as required of a consultant designer.
• Passionate about and experience in product strategy and design will be an added bonus.

The Faculty of Art and Design is dedicated to inspiring students to pursue their passion for fine art and design while fostering their growth as effective creative thinkers, problem solvers, and future builders.

In this pivotal role, you will be engaged in aiding students through our holistic and integrative learning culture in order for them to develop strong creative expression, technical skills, and innovative practices within our practice-led, industry-focused curriculum, which includes studio work, industry projects and insightful workshops.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the incumbent would be to work closely with students by supervising their projects, providing technical guidance on creating scaled and full-scale prototypes, and assisting students in using the assigned FOAD Workshop(s) effectively.

The role also involves planning and forecasting the budgeting needs for faculty workshops, preparing the necessary materials and offering technical support for classes, as well as conducting induction sessions to teach safe workshop practices, machinery operation, and adherence to workshop regulations and proper attire and conduct.

In addition, you will also be responsible for maintaining safe housekeeping practices, managing the storage of materials, and maintaining an inventory of workshop facilities. You will ensure that all users strictly follow the workshop rules and regulations by monitoring the usage and loaning of equipment to users and ensuring safety and proper maintenance.

• You should possess a Diploma qualification in a related discipline with relevant working experience in a workshop environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design, development, testing and support of firmware/embedded software applications for microcontroller based wireless systems.
• Develop software communication protocols for wireless communication systems
• Drive technology/development projects in all phrases from specification to release.
• Read or understand electronics schematic and system design.
• Work closely with cross functional teams to ensure project delivery on time.
• Define and create product software specification including software architecture, feature descriptions and applications notes of the system
• Research technical issues and/or opportunities and provide recommendations.

Requirements:

• Degree in Electronic/Electrical/Computer Engineering/Computer Science, Software Engineering or related fields.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in real time embedded system
• Must process strong knowledge of C/C++ language
• Experience with Arm, Cortex based microcontroller is required
• Strong Knowledge of the communication transport protocol like I2C, SPI, UART and USB
