• Tunnelling Protocols (GRE, IPSEC), IP MTU, IP MSS
• Intermediate understanding of Multicast (PIM-SM) – Able to explain the functional components of PIM-SM. Able to troubleshoot MSDP issues and devise a plan to restore the multicast flow.
• VRF-based troubleshooting for IP routing and Multicast.
• ACL, AAA, 802.1x, Radius and TACACS+.
• NTP, Syslog, local logging
• SNMPv2 & SNMPv3 – SNMP polling vs trap.

1. Mastery of New Technology

• Mastery of Cisco Firepower (FMC, FTD, and FDM) for Day 2 function
  • Able to perform image software of Cisco FMC, FTD, and FDM (all in standalone and HA configuration). Backup and restore config. Understand and able to deploy basic firewall rules.
  • Understand and able to execute license transfer for Firepower and other Cisco equipment (Understand Traditional License vs Smart Licensing – air-gapped environment (SLR, PLR))
• High-level understanding of Cisco ISE for 802.1x and AAA
  • Able to infer based on technical assessment if the issue is related to network devices or Cisco ISE.
  • Able to articulate the function of 802.1x and AAA in an operational or failure state. What are the workarounds if ISE’s services have misbehaved or failed.

As a System Engineer, He/she will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the infrastructure and system by providing 24x7 standby support.

Responsibilities

· Monitor the conditions of the system to ensure they are operational and 99.95% available

· Perform verification and validation of the system, security and software patches at the Integration Validation Verification Qualification (IVVQ) platform and Production platform

· Perform scheduled system and security patching, and software deployment that includes the administration, configuration management and software upgrades

· Troubleshoot and isolate defects, including defects caused by failure of hardware, operating system, system software (e.g. Kubernetes) or any Authority Furnished Equipment (AFE) that is interfaced to the system

· Rectify defects related to the software or operating system. In cases where the defects cannot be rectified, to propose and implement a workaround for the software or system to mitigate the impact of the defect

· Identify and liaise with the original equipment vendor, or other Authority’s maintenance contractors to remedy the defect in the software of the system

· Maintain records of all defects, including defects proven to be due to the hardware, operating system, open-source software COTS software, or any AFE interfacing with the system

· Ensure completeness of and to upkeep all related baseline documents of the software and operating system

· Ensure all documents, software and operating system shall be controlled in accordance with the guidelines in the approved configuration management plan, for example proper hardware and software configuration control over any activities e.g. defect rectification and software upgrading

Requirements

· Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology / Information Systems / Business IT or its equivalent

· Minimally 2-3 years of experience in Linux administration

· Minimally 2-3 years of experience in Windows Server administration

· Minimally 2-3 years of experience in supporting mission critical systems with very stringent SLA e.g. 99.9%

· Well-versed in IT Service Management (ITSM) standards, processes, guidelines and best practicesPrevious experience writing test cases

· On 24x7 standby. Respond to site within 2 hours upon activation by Service Desk. Resolve incident within 2 hours at site.

· Able to cope in a highly pressured fast-paced environment

· Prior working experience in RedHat Enterprise Linux is preferred

· Prior working experience in Windows Server, Windows SQL Server and Microsoft Active Directory is an added advantage

· Prior working experience in Kubernetes, Docker, HyperV, Nginx, and PostgreSQL

· Conversant working with Kubectl and Docker commands

· Conversant working with Windows PowerShell commands

· Knowledge of open-source software such as Elastic Search, MQTT, MinIO, Kafka, ZooKeeper and Spark

MAIN JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and develop machine control software for automated semiconductor equipment.
