The successful candidate will play an integral role within the IT Service Management Ops leadership team. Students will be exposed to healthcare governance frameworks and to applications in the Australian and health countries' systems and policy. Students will examine the principles of healthcare organisations, institutions, and policy design and development in a comparative perspective, and will discuss recent healthcare reform efforts in developed and developing countries. Historical, political, economic and stakeholders' influence on current and emerging health reforms and policy will be analysed to enable students to recognise and design best practices.

The Role

This role is part of Schroders’ Risk and Compliance community, which has about 100 professional staff and provides support for 27 countries worldwide including Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Indonesia and Australia in Asia Pacific.

This role will be based in Singapore providing compliance support to management and business function heads of Schroders Singapore for its business activities covering the South East Asia (“SEA”) region. The individual will work very closely with the Compliance, Legal and Risk teams in Asia Pacific.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

• Advise on rules and regulations associated with the Schroders Singapore’s current and proposed business activities including new business initiatives, new products and new client relationships across SEA.

3. To monitor the operation and effectiveness of Schroders Singapore’ AML systems and controls and to provide a report on this to senior management at least annually.
4. To handle the reporting of suspicious transactions to the relevant authorities and liaising with external parties as required.
5. To advise the Group MLRO of significant issues for escalation to senior management and providing the Group MLRO with copies of suspicious activity reports made to local authorities (where confidentiality laws permit).
6. To ensure that adequate arrangements are in place to provide staff with money laundering awareness and training.

Job experience

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree/Diploma or equivalent in Marine Engineering/ Navigation/Internationally recognized shipping degree/qualification
• Hold MEO Class 1 Certificate of competency or Certificate of Competency II/2 (for Master/Chief Officer) or Certificate of Competency III/2 (for Chief Engineer/Second Engineer) under STCW Code
• A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience as Chief Engineer/Second Engineer or Master/Chief Officer on Dry/Tanker/Gas in the relevant type of vessel being recruited for e.g. Dry Cargo, Oil, Chemijocal or Gas, etc. Of this a minimum sailing experience of 6 months as Chief Engineer/Master (12 months is desirable).

Desirable:

• Knowledge in Classifications Society procedures and regulations is desirable.
• Should have prior people management experience
• Proven track record in intermediate and special dry dockings, ship repair, mobilizations and in-water repairs
• Demonstrated Commercial acumen and ability to manage vessel financials within scope as well as satisfy client’s requirements
• IT literate and computer savvy
• Business Administration qualification will be an added advantage
• Basic knowledge of Energy Management Systems and / or energy conservation methods is an advantage

Requirements:
