Our client, a not for profit organisation, is currently looking for Head of Centre for their Home for the Disabled.
The role will report to the Director of Centre.
Job Descriptions:
Operations
- To work with different team and stakeholders on drafting and updating of existing policies and procedures.
- Maintain quality of care by enforcing values and standards of care to adhere to state board of nursing and state nurse practice act requirement governing to agency regulations, measuring health outcomes against standards and making or recommending adjustments.
- Outsource contractors and partners to ensure manpower efficiency.
- Prepare annual budgeting, scheduling expenditures, analysing variance and initiating corrective actions.
Supervisory
- Supervisory work to ensure the team members have appropriate trainings and direction.
- Supervise different teams (Nursing, Admin, Operations, Volunteer and Donor
Management) in the delivery of their work.
- To provide training for new employees and development of existing employees.
- Coaching, counselling, disciplining and appraising employees.
- Recruiting and interviewing candidates to ensure sufficient manpower headcounts.
Customer Management
- To work with administrative and facilities team to follow up on overall Centre maintenance.
- Work with the Senior Social Worker (SSW) on the social well-being of the residents.
- Coordinate with the relevant agencies on matters related to Centre.
- Encourage and support strong volunteer involvement among individuals and groups.
Administration
- Conduct periodic reviews of reports related to resident care.
- Prepare reports for statutory submission and statutory meetings.
- Ensure timely submissions of reports in accordance to SOP such as incident report, hospitalisation report, quarterly and annual reports and reports for meetings.
- Review training records of care staff to ensure compliance of requirement on training by ITE for On-The-Job (OJT) Centre.
Any Other Duties
- Deputise the Director in his/her absence and when assigned.
- Participate in fire drill exercise in accordance with the Fire Safety Bureau Regulations with the assistance of all staff concerned.
- Assist in events held at the Centre.
- Participate in training and team meeting.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Possess a recognised University degree in Nursing / Therapy (PT/OT/ST) / Social Work
- At least 5 years working experience in senior management position
- 2 years of professional nursing/Therapy/Social Work experience in the long-term care
setting is an added advantage, and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in nursing home /
hospital administration or a comparable management position
- Demonstrate a high degree of leadership, organisational ability and
communication skills
- Knowledge of long-term care management, policies, budgeting, personnel management and
census development is required
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) with good command of English and with
strong presentation and report writing skills
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well to people of all levels
- Enjoys working with volunteers and as well as good team player
- Self-motivated, resourceful, innovative, organised and able to work independently
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to relate well to people at all levels
