The Centre for Remote Imaging, Sensing and Processing (CRISP) operates a high-tech satellite ground station at the National University of Singapore. The Centre operates multiple dish antennas that track, receive and process data from remote sensing satellites orbiting the planet and conducts active research programmes on optical, infrared and microwave remote sensing.

The networks at CRISP carry large volumes of time sensitive data from orbiting satellites across our distributed antenna sites. It is a key component in our antenna farm. The work of the Ground Station Network Engineer is to keep this data distribution layer healthy and thriving. You will be asked to help design, provision, configure, maintain and administer complex multi-tier, multi-domain networks that are fast, secure and reliable. You will also be communicating with satellites through their mission control stations and participate in satellite data processing and archiving.

Regional Technical Support Engineer (TSE) provides technical and engineering support related to equipment within a Siemens Energy (SE) Aero-Derivative Gas Turbine (AGT) Package. The Regional TSE position is an integral part of the Regional Operation team. This position involves direct engagement with End Customers (within Asia Pacific Region), Third Party Vendors, Field Service team, Marketing & Sales team, Product Competency Center (PCC) and Project Management teams, in the resolution of equipment and/or operational problems.

How You’ll Make an Impact

· Act as technical consultant to end customer, joint venture partner, project teams, marketing & sales team etc.

· Provide prompt technical response to Customer to keep our customer equipment operating safely.

· Assist and guide Customer to fault find and resolve equipment related technical issues.

· Direct communications with vendors in the solution of auxiliary equipment failure or malfunction.

· Liaise with Product Competency Center (PCC) to seek further support if technical issue cannot be resolved regionally.

· Write fact based technical reports with high level of proficiency.

· Create Field Change Order (FCO) instructions and work procedures, to support Field Engineers and Customer personnel with Site modification or change-out activities.

· Identification of complaints from customer and escalate it through appropriate channels.

· Perform field tests and failure investigation on overall packages and components.

· Support Modifications & Upgrades (MK&S) team to identify new opportunities from technical recommendations provided to the customer.

What You Bring

· Degree/ Diploma in Engineering related discipline.

· Minimum of 4 years’ experience working with Rotating Machinery in the oil and gas industry and/or power generation industry.

· Experience working on Siemens Energy Gas Turbines and/or Turbo Compressors.

· Good understanding of operations of gas turbine and driven compression equipment and their associated auxiliary systems, such as air filtration, acoustic packages, lube oils systems, fuel gas systems, seal gas system and other auxiliary systems.

· Essential to have good understanding of control systems including hardware design, power distribution, networking, electrical wiring (internal to UCP and Cross site cables), Allen Bradley platform or SIMATIC S7-1500 platform controls.

· Ability to work as a team player and contribute to the success of the team.

· Ability to communicate and exchange ideas effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

· Ability to initiate ideas to resolve complex issues into practical engineering solutions.

· Ability (BOSIET, CA-EBS, MIST, H2S) and willingness to travel to supplier and customer sites to perform site surveys, assessments, customer meetings, and possibly participate in safety discussions.

Job Description

What you will do:

• Support and complement the engineering team and sales team in the process design related to refrigeration systems and gas compression systems inclusive of compressor selections with Frick Screw compressors, York multi-wheel centrifugal compressors, and other compressors or chillers for the projects. This includes vessel and heat exchanger design using HYSYS and HTRI software and optimal to have AutoCad 2D experience for P&IDs and PFDs.
• Assume responsibility in providing engineering support for the design of refrigeration systems and gas compression systems for sales and projects, attend HAZOP meetings, and assist the sale and project teams at customer meetings.

How you will do it:

• Design refrigeration systems for various applications and perform a heat balance.
• Prepare P&ID diagrams, equipment layout/piping layout for refrigeration system.
• Size refrigeration equipment such as pressure vessel, heat exchangers, valve and controls
• Able to read and understand project/technical specification and comply to require specification.
• Specify temperature, pressure and differential transmitters, and flow meters along with the instrument engineer.
• Design refrigeration system for cold rooms/chilled water system/glycol system
• Work with different vendors on the selection of third-party equipment
• Able to hold technical discussions with vendors, sub-contractors and customers.
• Frequent site visits to ensure the refrigeration systems are integrated and installed in accordance to original design and provide effective solution for any impromptu design changes.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD is a must.
