Job Summary:

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the company, with a strong focus on developing and implementing technology strategies that align with our business objectives. This role will involve leading the engineering and product development teams, ensuring the scalability, security, and reliability of our e-commerce platform, and driving innovation to enhance our competitive edge in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technology Strategy and Vision: Develop and execute the company's technology strategy, aligning it with business goals and objectives.
  Identify and assess emerging technologies that could impact the e-commerce landscape and integrate relevant innovations into the company’s product roadmap.
  
• Leadership and Team Management: Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering and product development team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  Recruit, develop, and retain top talent in technology roles, ensuring the team has the skills and resources necessary to achieve the company’s objectives.
  
• Product Development and Innovation: Oversee the design, development, and deployment of the company’s e-commerce platform and related products.
  Drive innovation in product offerings, improving user experience, and ensuring the platform is responsive to market trends and customer needs.
  
• Platform Scalability and Security: Ensure the scalability, security, and reliability of the e-commerce platform, managing risks and implementing best practices in infrastructure, architecture, and cybersecurity.
  Oversee the technical aspects of large-scale projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  
• Data and Analytics: Leverage data analytics to drive decision-making and optimize the performance of the e-commerce platform.
  Implement data-driven strategies to enhance customer experience, improve conversion rates, and increase overall revenue.
  
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with executive leadership and key stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  Communicate technology strategies, progress, and challenges to the board of directors and other stakeholders.
  
• Budget Management: Develop and manage the technology budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and alignment with business objectives.
  Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiencies through technology.
  

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. MBA or equivalent business education is a plus.
• Experience: At least 10 years of experience in a senior technology leadership role, preferably within the e-commerce or digital marketplace sector.
• Technical Expertise: Strong background in software development, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data analytics. Experience with modern e-commerce platforms, APIs, and microservices architecture is essential.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire technology teams, with a track record of driving innovation and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically, with a strong understanding of how technology impacts business growth and competitiveness.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Korean language required to be able to converse effectively with IT engineers based in Korea.
• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions under pressure and navigate complex technical challenges.
